We have 55 Lions Clubs (1819) Members) in our District we’re all bonded together by the Lions mission “WE SERVE”. So why not get

others in our communities to join. Look at the Internationals “Just Ask” membership booklet

http://www.lionsclubs.org/EN/common/pdfs/me300.pdf

WE serve our communities, we support our District Projects, and we support our Multiple District’s Mass Lions Eye Research Fund

and our International Lions Clubs International Foundation programs, so why not have some fun and compete. Earn points for

what we do and get recognized for what you have done.

The CEP (Club Excellence Points) Awards Program that I have put together is to encourage club to participate in our Lions

Community of District 33 S. Your club is in control of the points that your Club earns. The points are awarded for participation in your

Communities, District, State and International programs and projects.

My theme for the year is “Yellow Brick Road the Path of Sight” with the challenge of our District Lions to maintain our Path of

Lions causes and focus on other Clubs and the clubs around us as we serve our communities.

Membership is a club issue that we all stumble over each and everyday. I know that not one of us or group has the answer to

increasing membership in our clubs. But I do believe that we all have the answer to retention of our present members.

Our members are the life of our clubs and they are important to our clubs future. We need to encourage members to become leaders

of our clubs and we do this by standing back and for Just One Year supporting them in leading us where ever they see their path of

vision for the year. We do this by not criticizing them when things are not done our way or the way we have always done it. We do this

by following them down their Path of leadership and entrusting them with our extension for Club growth for just one year. Let us all

practice by example the lions Toast of unity” Not Above You- Not Below You-But with You”

This year’s International President Barry Palmer Theme is “Follow Your Dream” with a key emphasis on you and your Dream.

President Palmer’s message is to write down your Dream, carry it with you until you’re ready, share it with others

and inspire them to work with you to achieve your Dream

… “We Serve”

A Message from District Governor Ray

HOYLE PARTNER IN SERVICE

AWARD

The Hoyle Partners in Service Award was created in 2004 to honor Past International Director John and Lion Nat Hoyle, in recognition of their many years of service to Lions Clubs International and the Massachusetts Lions of Multiple District 33.

There two requirements to be a candidate for the Hoyle Award, and they are that both partners in service must be Lions, and have been active in assisting those in need, and a member in good standing in the clubs. The Hoyle Award cannot be purchased, but can only be obtained by living our motto of “We Serve”.

The Hoyle Partners in Service Award is presented at the District 33S Mid Winter Conference, Saturday evening Banquet. The names of the recipients are kept secret until they are announced at the banquet.

Any Lion in District 33S can nominate a couple/partner in service, both Lions who you feel is worthy of this award. Submit a letter stating why you feel they are worthy of the award and e-mail it PDG Don Hebert at [email protected]. Or mail to 44 Johnson St., Taunton, MA 02780 before November 20, 2013.

50th Annual Falmouth Christmas Parade

Sunday December 8th

I just wanted to touch base with you to let you know that the 50th annual Falmouth Christmas Parade on

Sunday December 8th. This Parade is known as Southeastern Massachusetts’ largest holiday parade

featuring theme decorated floats, marching bands, live animals, costumed characters and Santa Claus!

This year’s Parade steps off at noontime at the Falmouth Mall and proceeds down Main Street to the

Village Green.

In the last couple of years we have had many Cape Cod Lions Clubs participate and march in the parade carrying their clubs banner. This year being such an historical landmark year for the Parade we would like to see not only on the Cape but the off Cape Lions Club participate. I’d like to ask for your help to “get the word out” to the other on & off Cape Clubs about this up and coming event.

If possible for cabinet members to attend this year’s parade with some friends? Yours in Lionism; Lion John D. Crockett [email protected] 508-274-0800 Cell
