My dear fellow Rotarians,

Another new Rotary Year for the Rotarians has

already taken off. On the 1st of July, 2017, the

Health Check up Camp at 24 Metro Railway Stations

were well attended by Rotarians, Rotaractors and

RCC members of our District 3291. In the evening

on that day, Change-Over Ceremony of our District

was held at G. D Birla Sabhagar where 700 Rotarians

including PDGs and their gracious spouses were

present. I am grateful to the Chief Guest of the

evening PRID P T Prabhakar for attending the

programme and delivering a motivational speech.

I am really thankful to my Past District Governors,

District Governor Elect and District Governor

Nominee for their unstinted support.

The month of August in Rotary Calendar

is earmarked as a Membership Month.

This year RI President, Ian H. S.

Riseley declared membership growth

as one of the thrust areas.

It is universally known amongst

all Rotarians that they have actively

joined hands to uplift the community

in its various spheres and to carry on

the endeavour to move ahead with such

efforts, the clubs will have to make efforts

to induct new Members. A special drive needs to

be initiated to capitalize individual strengths for

a collective effort.

I request all the Presidents of the respective Clubs

to give special emphasis on inducting new members

and also to ensure the retention of existing members

by way of involving them regularly in the club

activities and club projects.

Further new members of the Club have to be

encouraged by extending due respect to them and

their views should also be addressed properly. It is

needless to mention that without the services of the

members no Club will be able to sustain for long.

The leaders and senior Rotarians

through their dedication are no

doubt the assets of the Club

in pursuit of the continuing

success of Rotary.

Yours - in – Rotary

Brojo Gopal Kundu

Governor, District 3291

We rotarians have served to the best of our ability, each one of us has put in our best efforts to do good to the world. Whenever we think or talk about service we all have reasons to be proud of. We can recollect how well that project was in which we served so many people. We made the children happy by giv-ing them the light of education, made their mothers happy by creating jobs for them, we made the community happy by providing safe drinking water, made the villagers feel good with the toilets we

Membership – A Challengeconstructed for their use. With our partners we have made and kept India Polio free for the last six & half years. We can go on saying about how we made others happy. While making others happy we have neg-lected ourselves. We have not taken care of ourselves. We have not done justice to our organization. We have not grown. how can we make more people happy if we in rotary are not happy with ourselves? We haven’t brought in more people to serve with us. We have not retained our fellow rotarians. It is time we look within ourselves. We need to grow, we need to retain.Members are precious to us. let’s give a call to our close ones to join rotary. We are not growing as we are not inviting more people. let’s take this job as a chal-lenge. let’s take an oath.

our near ones should not be away from rotary. We should invite them. Make them feel that rotary is making a difference.Increase members in existing Clubs. Invite more quality people. Invite the youth. Invite women.Don’t let our existing members leave rotary. retain them.let each one of us do our part of the job.the results are in our hands. More we dedicate ourselves to this cause we will get more hands to serve with.let others know rID 3291 has achieved a minimum of 20% growth in Membership by retaining and inducting. I trust you my friends. rotary relies on you.Cheers !!!
