TheRotaryLeadershipInstitute(RLI)isafast-paced,two-daycourseofferedtobuildonaRotarian'sleadershipskillsandincreaseunderstandingofRotary.
Courses are topical, interactive, and geared towards Rotarians who want to be moreknowledgeableandeffectiveleadersintheirClubs.Thisinternationallyrecognizedcourseiscollaborativeinapproachandprovidesopportunitiesto learnmore about Rotary, its structure, its programs and the role and function of Clubleaders.
Rotary’s strength depends on the quality, education and leadership of its Rotarians.Leadership skills in a voluntary organisation differ from those required in a businessenvironment.Equally,itisdifficult,inthebusyscheduleofmostClubs,tolearnenoughoftheexcitingworldofRotarywithitsover1.2millionmembersinover160countries.

OneoftheideassuggestedbyPRIP -TrusteesChair RayKlinginsmith torestoremembershipnumberswasa"FiveforOne"planthatmanyclubshavesuccessfullyimplementedinthepast.Thisisamodelforintroducingnewmembersonagradualbasisforthoseclubsthatpreferthismodel.
THEWAYITWORKSIS:
• Themembersofaclubaredividedintogroupsofapproximatelyfivemembers.
• Each team is asked to identify several prospective members who share the values of Rotary -rememberit'snotanumbersgame,wewantgoodpeopleinRotarywhowant todogoodin theworldandsharethevaluesofourfounders.
• The team decides the best person or persons to make the initial contact with the prospectivemember.ManyinvitethemforacoffeetointroducethemtoRotarywithoneortwooftheteamattending,whileothersbringthemtoaclubmeetingasaguest.Thatdecisionisuptoyouandyourclub.
• After time spent getting to know the prospectivemember, normally twomembers of the teamwouldinvitethemtobecomeaRotarianiftheyaresuitable.
