We are dedicated to creating finely-crafted spirits by combining high-quality ingredients with water from melting snow from the nearby High-Sierra Nevada Mountains. Our equipment limits the size of our batches to about 40 gallons, so each batch gets our utmost attention. Each bottle is filled by hand. No detail is overlooked in our endeavor to create hand-crafted spirits. From our family to yours, please enjoy!

We are a family-owned small distillery in the heart of the Mother Lode in the California Sierra Foothills.
Engine 49 Spirits
Rum : Our Rum is made from 100% sugar cane. We add a small amount of barrel-aged rum to give just a hint of spice and sweetness that I love. Wonderful to sip, and exceptional in a Cuba Libre, Daiquiri, or your favorite rum cocktail. Rye Whiskey 80 and 120 proof : This spicy, wonderful whiskey has deep roots in American History. Enjoy it straight, or make an exceptional Old-Fashioned or Manhattan. Ben Franklin would be proud! Bourbon 80 and 120 proof: The critics are raving! Try this Bourbon once and you’ll be hooked! Corn, rye, and barley create a complex, delicious flavor. Aged in new, charred American Oak barrels. This will soon be your favorite spirit—Wonderful to sip cold or room temp, and amazing in your favorite whiskey concoction.
Vodka : Our vodka is made from 100% American Corn. We distill it six times, each time creating a more pure alcohol. Our finished product is smooth and slightly sweet for exceptional drinkability and enjoyment. Wonderful to sip, shoot, or add to your favorite cocktail.
California Gold Gin : We commissioned a consortium of chefs, herbologists, and gin-lovers to create this California Gin. Beautiful California Gold color, and a complex, deep flavor are the hallmarks of this gin. We didn’t try to mask the Juniper, instead we found flavors which complemented it. All agreed that this was the finest gin they had tasted. Try it in a Gin and Tonic, or Martini and we think you’ll agree.
