Friction can be an asset at times, but in general it is a problem for most sealing applications. The heat and physical damage caused by Friction and torque can drastically reduce the effectiveness and lifetime of a seal. The patented PermaGlyde® process retains all of core elastomer physical properties while subjecting the surface to a Fluorination process. This process drastically reduces the stiction by chemically changing the rubber so that the physical properties are permanently upgraded to reduce breakaway friction, increase lubricity and de-crease adhesion. Our testing has shown this is equivalent to the Polymod ® process.
