Key benefits of attending:

The banking industry is in a state of flux. The demands of digital are having an unprecedented impact onthe sector, and adapting to the needs of the digital-first Millennials has become a business imperative.

Traditional banks – weighed down by unprofitable branches, legacy back offices and inefficient silos – are finding it hard to compete in an increasingly digital marketplace. Meanwhile, challenger banks such as Moven, Simple and Atom and non-bank players such as PayPal, Square, Zynga and Google continue to challenge the traditional banking model and eat into the incumbents’ market share. While the MENA region remains a technologically sophisticated banking market, many banks are still missing the digital innovations that are radically changing business models and redefining customer experiences.

The MEFTECH 2016 Conference is designed to address the opportunities and challenges facing MENA banks as they seek to reposition and repackage themselves for the digital era. With a fine blend of keynotes, panel discussions and live demos, this conference will provide practical insights into how financial firms in the Middle East can leverage digital innovations to achieve superior customer experience, enhanced loyalty and increased competitiveness.

International KeynoteDisruptors, Differentiators & Disappearing Branch RevenuesBrett King, CEO/Founder of Moven

Futurist and best-selling author Brett King has been studying the impact of technology and behaviour disruption on banking for over two decades since the commercial Internet emerged. In the research for his latest book Augmented, King discovered some amazing parallels in technology disruptions that have occurred over the last 250 years, and what this pattern of disruption means next for the way banking works. The end result is that we can now predict how consumers will react to market forces —declining branch activity and the examples provided by disruptors like Moven, Simple, Betterment, Lending Club and others—with ramifications for branch networks that are devastating. Financial institutions that think that their advice, products or “stores” are differentiators had better get ready to question their very existence.

Fireside ChatLooking into the Crystal Ball: What will the Banking World Look Like in 2025? Chris Skinner, CEO, The Financial Services Club interviews Brett King, CEO, Moven

The banking business is being fundamentally reshaped as it moves towards a truly contextual, customer-centric view and non-bank players continue to disrupt and unbundle incumbents. What does the next wave of technology have in store for banks? What is the next big thing in banking? How will banking look like in 2025? This session brings two of the industry’s greatest minds to present their vision for future banking.

Reimagining the Customer ExperiencePaolo Barbesino, SVP, Head of Digital - CEE Retail at UniCredit Bank Austria AGTo stay relevant, banks are having to increasingly fight for customer attention. Consumers clearly tell us that banks are not necessarily the first place they look to satisfy their evolving needs of staying in control of their money and growing their future aspirations. This is why a paradigm shift is required that puts the design of the target consumer behaviour at the very core of a new banking experience.
