mud springs in the world along with Kagoshima Hot Spring in Japan and

Anping Fort

Guanziling Hot Spring is one of the four major hot spring areas in Taiwan. Which is located in mud rock formations. That is the reason for the hot spring water is dark grey and bitter. It also called “The Beauty Hot Spring” in Taiwan. It is regarded as a natural source of beauty treatment. In addition, Guanziling Hot Spring and its mud-properties will leave the skin feeling soft and smooth. Located at the side of the mountain, there are many hot spring resorts, restaurants, and swimming pools available. There is also a unique place to see the Fire and Water Spring.

Highlights

Ten Drum cultural village is the first drum-themed international art village in Asia which is located in the suburb of Tainan. Since 2007, The Ten Drum Art Percussion Group built a cultural village with an area of five hectares It is the new cultural landmark of South Taiwan.

Anping Fort is built during the Dutch occupation in 1624 on the foundations of the Dutch stronghold named Fort Zeelandia. It has become a popular tourist attraction nowadays. The fort was the anchor point of early settlements in Tainan for both the Dutch and the Chinese, and much of the settlement’s history lies in Anping’s old streets surrounding the fort.

Tainan Confucius Temple

The goddess Matsu is one of the most important deities in Taiwan. The Grand Matsu Temple of Tainan was the first officially dedicated Matsu temple. Which is one of the largest temples in Tainan City, especially among the old historic ones. There are many rooms dedicated to various deities in back of the main hall.

Tainan Confucius Temple, also known as “The Highest Institute”, was built in 1666. Which is the first Confucius temple constructed in Taiwan and back in the days, it was the only place of the highest official institute of higher learning in Taiwan.

Chihkan Tower also known as Fort Provintia which is located at the intersection of Chihkan St. and Minzu Rd. It was constructed by the Dutch in 1653 and was originally used as the administration center during the Dutch’s occupation. Its original name was Provintia which means “eternity” in Dutch. In front of the Tower, there are nine statues of turtles, each of them carrying a stone plate on its back. Chihkan Tower is classified as a heritage site and also a representative of Tainan attractions.
