Made of red brick and concrete, Lille Town Hall Belfry was completed in 1932. It was built to replace the former Town Hall of Lille destroyed during WWI, and is one of the group of belfries from North France and Belgium included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is 104 metres high, which makes it the highest civil belfry in Europe, with a design inspired both by Art Deco style and Flemish architecture.

Lille Christmas Market celebrates local and international Christmas crafts, products and foodstuffs. From hand-crafted ceramics to imaginative jewellery, from Liège waffles to pain d’épice, this market is the perfect place to sample local products and find lovely gifts.

Built as an indoor swimming pool with an Art Deco design, La Piscine was converted into a museum in 2000. The permanent collection features textiles, fashion, ceramics, and collections related to the local and international textile industry and fine arts.

This museum in the historic part of Lille, an area called “Le Vieux Lille”, is housed in an hospital built in 1237. The premises were converted into a museum in 1962 and retain the atmosphere of an old Flemish convent. The exhibition features tapestries, paintings, wood sculptures and porcelain.

In this traditional Flemish restaurant, you can sample local cuisine with dishes prepared with beer from the North of France and using regio-nal cheeses such as maroilles or mimolette, with roasted and baked chicory.

The Alliance Française de Manchester is not responsible for the flight arragements of participants.

◊ Each participant should ensure that his/her passport is valid and up to date.

◊ If a participant books any other flight than those mentioned in the brochure, it will be his / her responsability to arrange transport to join the group.

◊ Participants must be covered by their own insurance. The Alliance Française de Manchester will not be responsible for any incident or loss that occurs before or during the tip.

◊ Please be aware that this trip is not open to anyone under the age of 18 due to alcohol tasting activites.
