DISCOUNT DIRECTORY
Special Discounts for Older Adults and
Adults with Disabilities
AGING AND DISABILITY SERVICES
Updated 9/4/2018 Page | 2
INTRODUCTION
The City of Seattle created this directory to identify discounts for older adults and adults
with disabilities. Some of the businesses listed provide a discount when you present your
card. Others provide their own discount and neither a Gold nor FLASH Card is required.
Businesses define “older adult” differently (for example, age 60 or 65). Some
organizations extend discounts only to holders of the Gold Card for Healthy Aging (for older adults 60+) or FLASH Card (for adults with disabilities under 60).
Notice: This directory does not provide a complete list of discounts for older adults
or persons with disabilities. Vendor participation in the directory is voluntary and
free. The City of Seattle has not investigated the services listed, and neither
endorses the businesses nor warrants the services, products or quality offered. We
do not guarantee that businesses offer the lowest price. Discounts and terms listed
may change or be discontinued at any time without notice.
We urge you to compare prices and seek advertised specials. Before you make a major
purchase, weigh your options carefully. Check out the businesses you are thinking of
doing business with by contacting the Better Business Bureau (go to www.bbb.org on
the Web or call (206) 431-2222). When purchasing services, request a written estimate
or contract describing the work and the cost.
If you have comments about services you receive from the businesses listed in this
directory, we would like to hear from you. If you know of a business or service not listed
here that offers discounts to older adults and/or persons with disabilities, call us at
(206) 684-0500 or e-mail [email protected].
To access information about a variety of services and resources for adults 60 and over,
or adults with disabilities in King County, call Community Living Connections toll-free at
1(844) 348-5464 or (206) 962-8467.

GOLD & FLASH CARDS
Gold Card
Seattle's Gold Card for Healthy Aging is a handy resource for Seattle and King County
residents age 60 and older. The card features the toll-free Community Living
Connections number — 1(844) 348-KING [1(844)348-5464] or (206) 962-8467 — and
discounts on goods and services listed in a Special Discounts Directory.
Discounts available to Gold Card holders include free entrance to the Seattle Aquarium,
reduced admission to Woodland Park Zoo, and a 50 percent discount on dog and cat
licenses at the Seattle Animal Shelter.
The Gold Card is available at:
• City of Seattle Customer Service Bureau at City Hall (601 Fifth Ave. 1st Floor)
• Seattle Animal Shelter offices
• Seattle Neighborhood Service Centers

GOLD & FLASH CARDS
FLASH (Fun Leisure Access Savings and Health) Card
Seattle’s FLASH Card — Fun Leisure Access Savings and Health — is a discount and
identification card for adults with disabilities living in Seattle and King County. Similar to
the popular Gold Card for Healthy Aging, the FLASH Card features the King County 2-1-
1.
Embossed in Braille, the card also provides access to discounts on goods and services
listed in a Special Discounts Directory.
Eligibility requirements for the FLASH Card are the same as for a Metro Transit reduced
fare permit for persons with disabilities. People with temporary disabilities may receive a
paper FLASH Card with an expiration date.
To receive the FLASH card, print out and return the FLASH Card application form to one
of these locations:
• SightConnection
• Special Technology Access Resources (STAR) Center
• Alliance of People with Disabilities
For more information about the Gold Card or the FLASH Card, contact Age
Friendly Seattle.
