• Often focussed on us – personal morality• Biblical view is more ‘wholistic’• God’s oneness – all creation under Him• Shalom = completeness, wholeness• Holiness = bringing all areas of our lives
under the control and purpose of Jesus• Not about moralism - about surrender!
Discipleship Group
• Small group of friends• Usually two, three or four people• Same sex ie group of men or of women• Commit to meet every week• For a minimum of one hour• Encourage each other as disciples of
Jesus
Typical Meeting Agenda
• Confession of sin to one another• Bible reading• Discerning the word together• Prayer• Encourage deliberate discipleship• Integral part of daily lives and routines• Emphasise service in community
Discipleship groups can be a catalyst
for change
