Youth Triennium
Quaker Memorial PC missions team will be travel-ing to Haiti for a week in February from the 2nd - 9th to serve at the House of Hope with Haiti Out-reach Ministries. We have been working with HOM for over 5 years, and through them have learned about House of Hope, a girls’ home started after the earthquake disaster of 2010 that left many chil-dren without a support system.
One of their greater challenges is a consistent power source due to constant and extended black-
outs. On this trip, we will be installing a solar power system to help the House of Hope save a monthly diesel cost of about $450 as well as facilitate a reliable source of power for their daily needs like running a refrigerator and microwave as well as lighting at night.
If anyone would like to be a part of this mission, we make this trip each year in February. We have 2 spots available if you would like to travel in 2019. Please contact us at [email protected] with any questions you may have. Most of all, we ask for you to keep us in prayer over the preparations, the team and the trip. Thank you and God bless you.

CHRISTMAS JOY OFFERING
Each year during the Advent and Christmas season, we turn our
eyes to Bethlehem and celebrate the wondrous gift of Jesus
Christ, our Savior. By giving to the Christmas Joy Offering, you
honor this gift by providing assistance to current and retired
church workers in their time of need and developing our future
leaders at Presbyterian-related schools and colleges equipping
communities of color. For church workers in need of financial
help, whether due to declining health or a catastrophic event,
such as the Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, Christmas Joy provides for those needs through the Assistance Program of the
Board of Pensions.
We can never match God’s perfect gift in Jesus, but through the Christmas Joy Offering, we can testify to who we have
known God to be. Our perfect gift comes from above. Our gifts reflect our generous God. Our gifts support leaders in our
world – past, present and future.
Thank you for your Christmas Joy Offering, which may be submitted through the Presbytery of the Peaks.

Not everyone is up and cheery for the Christmas holidays. Dealing with the death of a loved one, facing life after divorce or separation, coping with the loss of a job, living with cancer or
other disease, and a number of other human situations make the holidays painful for many people. The Blue Christmas service acknowledges that while there are joys in our life, there
are also concerns and challenges. Join us in worship as we remember that God is with us even in the most difficult of times. All in the community are welcome.
