Established in 1997, Blockett Construction Inspection Group, LLC is a minority/woman-owned, small business managed by Cynthia Blockett. This firm has been a DBE for about 3 years. Along with DBE certification, Blockett Construction Inspection is also licensed in the State of Mississippi as well as Louisiana and Tennessee as a General Contractor and Inspector. The firm’s mission is to provide the highest level of service, while offering products that meet both standard and specialized requirements. Since Blockett Construction Inspection Group establishment the firm has conducted and been involved in a broad range of projects such as building homes for USDA, implementing inspections for the Mississippi Development Authority’s (MDA) Home Grant Project, inspections for HUD multi-family units and senior living facilities. In addition, the company serves as consultants for both county and private entities. The firm has an abundance of experience in both construction and inspection which has helped them obtain large projects as well as bid as prime contractor on a number of projects. For example, Blockett Construction Inspection just completed a construction job as the prime contractor for the new Amzie Moore Museum in Bolivar County (Cleveland, MS). All of Blockett Construction Inspection success comes from hard work, persistence, and professionalism. Guide your growth. Your business will grow or not depending on a lot of different factors, including overall economic trends, location, specific market needs, hard work and other elements. Businesses that plan do it to guide and influence their growth so they move proactively toward defined objectives rather than just reacting to business events.
Manage priorities. Strategy is focus. Allocate resources where they'll do the most good. Work toward your strengths and away from your weaknesses. Develop the company by doing the most important things according to your long-term objectives.

Back up a business loan application. Like investors, lenders want to see the plan and will expect the plan to cover the main points.
Seek investment for a business, whether it's a startup or not. Investors need to see a business plan before they decide whether or not to invest. They'll expect the plan to cover all the main points. Environmental- Wetlands, Waters of the US, and Threatened and
Endangered Species Master Contract 2015
The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) proposes to execute a Master Contract(s) with firms for the purpose of providing Wetlands, Waters of the US, and Threatened & Endangered Species Assessment Services, Statewide. This includes, but not limited to, gathering data on Wetlands, Waters, and Threatened & Endangered Species, conduct the field assessments, prepare reports, assessments, applications and any other related activities, assist MDOT with any coordination of meetings related to the above activities, and assist MDOT in establishing and/or maintaining any mitigation banks/service areas by providing the necessary documentation such as prospectus, banking instrument, coordinating restoration activities, performing hydrologic and hydraulic studies including hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to aid in stream restoration or rehabilitation and conceptual planning, and any other related activities. Hydraulic Engineering Services - Statewide
The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) proposes to execute a Master Contract(s) with firms for the purpose of providing . This includes performing hydraulic engineering for bridge and roadway design including, but not limited to, bridge and culvert hydraulic design, storm sewer design, open channel and median drainage design, sediment and detention basin design, one dimensional and two-dimensional hydraulic modeling, bridge scour analysis and evaluation, stream stability studies, bridge scour and stream instability countermeasure design, FEMA studies, CLOMR/LOMR applications, field survey, conceptual and preliminary bridge and roadway plans, final right of way and construction plans for stream countermeasures, and other hydraulic related services. Hydraulic design shall be in accordance with the latest AASHTO Drainage Manual as well as MDOT Roadway Design Manual. Bridge design shall be in accordance with the latest AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications. The Master Contract will utilize Cost plus Fixed Fee, Labor Hour/Unit Price, or Firm Fixed Price Work Assignments. The terms of a Master Contract for a selected consultant will not exceed 31/2 years with an estimated maximum contract amount of up to five (5) million dollars; however, MDOT may elect to execute a contract for a lesser not to exceed amount. Selected consultants may be assigned Work Assignments throughout the Master Contract term. Work Assignments will be assigned based on MDOT's standard operating procedures.

Sealed bids will be received by the City of Laurel, at the City Clerk's office, located at 401 North 5th Avenue, Laurel, Mississippi 39440, until 10:00 a.m. local time, on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 for supplying all labor, equipment, and materials (as specified) necessary for the construction of the above referenced project. All bids so received will be publicly opened and read aloud.
