DIRECTOR (HEALTH EDUCATION) Working at Virgo Health, you will engage with some of the industry’s biggest talents who are held in esteem among clients, key opinion leaders and patients alike. You will have exposure to our entire portfolio, with opportunities to get involved with our PR Comms division, as well as access to, and collaborate with, our global colleagues. We work across a diverse range of therapeutic areas such as rare diseases, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, diabetes, oncology, respiratory, skin conditions including psoriasis, neurological diseases, including multiple sclerosis, and ophthalmology. Our programmes and projects range from pre-launch to launch and post-launch across global, region Europe and UK accounts. Our current activities include patient advisory work, animations, green screen videos, websites and virtual meetings in addition to the more traditional medical communications such as congress activities, core slide decks, data interrogation and publications. Our meetings offering, led by our facilitator expert, covers pre-launch training meetings through to advisory boards and brand planning that are famous throughout the industry; these have to be experienced to be believed. We have specialist teams that everyone has access to and are given the opportunity to be part of. Medical education• Have depth of experience across the spectrum of medical communications activities including but not limited to:

• Digital solutions (websites, apps, interactive training, virtual meetings)

• Congress activities

• Advisory boards, workshops and internal training meetings

• Training assets (for medical and sales teams, HCPs and patients)

• Publications

• Strategic brand planning

• Experience of working with Top 20, medium and small pharma—on global, regional and domestic programmes —

across the spectrum of therapy areas including the most common (e.g. ophthalmology, type 2 diabetes) and rare

diseases

• Cultivate working relationships with KOLs, patient groups, vendors and other Virgo third parties

Client activity• Take the Virgo Health lead in client brand planning

• Demonstrate an understanding of the wider pharmaceutical industry and provide senior client counsel

• Take responsibility for client satisfaction, retention and development

• Maintain regular contact with client regarding account direction and resourcing

• Ensure an annual external strategic review of client accounts is executed

• Facilitate external meetings e.g. advisory boards, workshops

New business

• Work with the executive director to identify new business prospects and develop leads

• Lead and develop pitch strategy and proposal on specific RFPs

• Structure, plan resource and lead new business teams through the pitch process

• Input into new business opportunities across the Virgo Health business as needed

Industry awareness• Utilise understanding of the global through to domestic and broader health environment, applying growing

knowledge towards the implementation and development of client and new business programmes

• Build an in-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and client environment

• Keep updated on the ABPI, PAGB codes and MHRA and other regulatory bodies that impact on client business

M A N A G E R H A T

Account direction and management• Oversee designated accounts, appropriately directing account team activity

• Take accountability for the profitable management of accounts and team budgets

• Provide direction and strategic counsel to team members

• Monitor account progress against targets and make necessary changes to activity to achieve these

• Evaluate success of projects and overall programmes

• Identify and secure organic growth opportunities

People leadership and management• Line management of team members, including regular appraisals setting and supporting implementation of

personal development objectives

• Take responsibility for elements of the training programme

• Mentor to account directors and junior client services team members

• Assist with the recruitment of new team members when necessary

• Assist the executive director with succession planning

Business management

• Be an active member of the senior management team

• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Virgo’s vision and business objectives

• Assist the executive director and management team with the development and execution of the business plan

• Accurately forecast and report revenue proactively to the executive director on a monthly basis for all of

the business

• Participate in and contribute towards management team meetings and activities
