LOCATION & COURSE LOOP (APPROX. 6 MILES)
START and FINISH Line: Old Mill Park, Mill Valley, CA 94941
The Dipsea Hike takes place on public property and is NOT a closed course. Along the course you will encounter rocky dirt trails, steep hills, natural obstacles, and residential areas. Please be aware and respectful of your surroundings and pay attention for cars, bicyclists and other hikers. Stay on designated trails to avoid poison oak and lower the impact on the surrounding vegetation and soil. Poison oak is most common near narrow trails.
This is a non‐competitive event. Compete only against yourself. We don’t post or track results by any category. We want you to enjoy the beauty of Mt. Tamalpais without having to race against others.
AID STATIONS & RESTROOMS
Aid Stations are located on the course at approximately Mile 2 (Tourist Club) and Mile 3 (Mt. Home Inn). Each Station is stocked with oranges and bananas provided by Nugget Markets, energy bars provided by Health Warrior, KIND Snacks, LARABAR, and LUNA Bar, water provided by US Pure Water, Gatorade, and Medical Staff. Restrooms are available in Old Mill Park and at the parking lot across from Mt. Home Inn.

Daypack. You may want to carry a daypack with items you need on the hike – reusable water bottles, snacks, sunscreen, lip balm, and sunglasses.
Water bottles. Fill them up at home. Make sure you are hydrated. There are limited opportunities to get water along the course at a couple public drinking fountains and the Aid Stations.
Food/snacks. We provide some food and drinks, but don’t rely on it. We highly recommend bringing snacks to carry on the trails.
