    What you will learnOn completion of the Diploma in Business Management, students should be able to:

    > Select and apply standard methods, procedures or techniques within the business management field by drawing on knowledge gained and theory.

    > Respond and adjust appropriately to the need for change, brought on by a rapidly changing environment in which businesses operate.

    > Harness creativity and innovation from oneself to initiate new business ideas and business ventures in the spirit of both entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship.

    What qualification you will receiveOnce you’ve completed this programme, you will earn an NQF Level 6, 360 credit qualification. This Diploma is registered with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) and accredited by the Council of Higher Education (CHE). You will receive your qualification subject to successfully completing all required assessments and exams, having settled any outstanding fees, and submitted all required documentation.

    Certificates will be awarded at a formal graduation ceremony or delivered via courier.

  • Entry requirementsThe following minimum entrance requirements apply:

    1. A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with Diploma endorsement with:

    ▶ at least 40% in English, and ▶ at least 40% in Mathematics or 50% in Mathematical Literacy;

    or

    2. A Senior Certificate (SC) with:

    ▶ at least an E symbol, on Standard Grade level, in English, ▶ at least an E symbol, on Standard Grade level, in Mathematics;

    or

    3. A National Certificate (Vocational (NCV) with appropriate subject combinations and the following levels of achievement:

    ▶ a minimum of 50% in three fundamental subjects including English, AND

    ▶ a minimum of 60% in three compulsory vocational subjects, or ▶ a Higher Certificate or Advanced Certificate obtained in a

    cognate field.

    Supporting documents include a certified copy of ID document and Grade 12 certificate [NSC, NC, NCV (NQF level 4)]

    *Foreign learners are required to obtain a SAQA equivalent of your qualification and a study/work permit

  • Selection requirements > At least 18 years of age > Ability to read and write in English, which is the language of

    instruction > A basic level of digital literacy skills > If you do not meet the minimum requirements, you may still enrol

    on the basis of relevant work experience or mature age exemption.

    How this programme is deliveredThe programme is delivered online through our data-lite learning platform iCan. You can access your learning materials from most computers or any smart mobile device. Prescribed books and textbooks, available in our online library, can be downloaded for offline use.

    Students are encouraged to work independently, studying the learning content, doing the activities and assessments and participating in discussion forums. To support your online study, you will have access to a lecturer through various support channels.

    The Diploma is currently only offered on a part-time basis with an estimated completion time of four and a half years.

    How you are assessedAssessments form an integral part of the learning in this programme. You will be required to complete and submit various compulsory assessments for each module in the programme.

    Students will be exposed to various types of assessments, including multiple-choice questions, essay questions, case study assessments, graded discussion forums, research papers, sit-down and online exams, and more. Assessment tasks are completed and marked online via our student portal iCan, and will count towards the final module mark. Feedback and results will also be available online.
