The influence of DIPECHO supported projects in the institutionalization and scaling up at

National level of CBDRM small-scale initiatives and models conducted for many years by NGOs and mass organisations with Dipecho support and other donors support

cannot be underestimated.

Two main achievements in CBDRMhave been : To provide examples of good practices in CBRM and to

advocate for replication and scaling up by the government

Once established by the government to support the CBDRM Program on key components:(1) Disaster Risk Assessment and Disaster Preparedness, and(2) Need assessment and Disaster Response

Coordination• Coordination mechanism through strengthened TOR for Coordination Group for DRM and CC in education, and mapping of interventions

• Provide advisory support and guidance to development partners in designing DRR and CCA interventions, to ensure alignment with the sector’s priorities (e.g. curriculum, safe school, assessment and information management system, hazard resistant school design …)

• Enhanced coherence and partnerships in DRR and CC Programming in education, reducing duplication and increasing synergy.

• Strengthened the sector’s coordination with national CBDRM (Programme #1002)

of Natural Disasters as a framework for DRR and CCA education

• Support the development and implementation of Priority projects in line with the MOET Action Plan and Law on Prevention of Natural Disasters.

• Provincial Action Plans and Preparedness and Response Plan in the schools

• Advocacy related to DRR Day, national forum related to DRR/CCA;

• DRR/CC integrated in education sector planning to leverage resources for children

• Development partners have had more dialogues with MOET, and agreed on key areas of collaboration
