Meet the Director

Michael Wustrow became the director of the DiocesanChoir in 2004 succeeding its founding director, Msgr.Ronald Hayde. Mr. Wustrow is also Co-Director ofMusic at St. Agnes Cathedral, serving both the needsof the Cathedral parish, as well as the DiocesanLiturgies at the Cathedral.

Mr. Wustrow has extensive experience as a ChoralConductor, as well as an Organist. He has performedorgan recitals across the United States at venues inWashington D.C., San Francisco, and New York City,and performs regularly at St. Agnes Cathedral.

As a choral clinician, he has presented workshops andchoir festivals in Orlando, Milwaukee, Rochester,Pittsburgh, Dallas and Anaheim, as well as numerousappearances in the tri-state area. His reviews ofchoral music are published in Pastoral MusicMagazine.

Mr. Wustrow holds a degree in Music Education fromPennsylvania State University and a Masters Degreein Music from Yale University and the Yale Institute ofSacred Music. He is currently the Chairperson of theChoir Director Standing Committee for the NationalAssociation of Pastoral Musicians. He is on theNational Board of Directors for the Director of MusicMinistry Division of the National Association ofPastoral Musicians, and is chairman of the EducationCommittee.

The Diosesan ChoirFounded in 1991, theDiocesan Choir is com-prised of dedicated singerswho come from Catholicparishes throughoutNassau and SuffolkCounties.

Providing moving, harmo-nious choral music at Diocesan liturgical events suchas ordinations of deacons, priests and bishops, as wellas special liturgies for Advent and Lent, the choirbreathes life and song into the practice of ourCatholic faith.
