Dilli Village Base Camp for Beach to Boomanjin and Birrabeen
BioBlitz Dilli Village is located 24 kilometre north of Hook Point the landing point for the vehicular ferry service from the mainland and 12.5 kilometre south of Fraser Island’s main hub at Eurong. Using the former mining road it is accessible from the south on all but the highest tides. Alternative access using the Mary River Heads to Wanggoolba Creek ferry crossing (departing 8.30 am, 10.15 am and 4.00 pm) requires driving across the island and down the beach. The actual Dilli Village site is a strip of former beach ridges located between two parallel creeks — Govi and Gerrawea. It is only 200 metres from the beach via the pedestrian bridge over Govi Creek. That makes it possible to surf and then bathe in the Dilli Swimming hole in Govi creek on the return to the camp. For the personal protection of campers and their food, Dilli Village is surrounded by a dingo fence. There are about 25 camp sites and 5 bunkhouse blocks and six self-‐contained cabins as well as a large centrally located amenities block and the main building that houses a kitchen and dining area and the teaching and learning facilities including an array of on-‐line electronic equipment provided by the University of the Sunshine Coast that is supporting the BioBlitz. There are forty beds in the bunkhouses (@ $25 per person per night). There is 24 hour 240 volt power at the site Radiating from Dilli Village three vehicular tracks and the start of the Great Walk that bisects the study area of the BioBlitz. There are so many great features of the that make Dilli Village the ideal base from which to base this BioBlitz.

ENTRANCE''
The Dilli Village Eastern Deck. This is where all meals will be served: Tables can and will be in different configurations according to the day. Based in anticipated numbers meals may be served here in two sittings.
The Southern Deck/Learning Facility. This area can also be set up in different configurations according to the needs on the day.
The Apple TV is located on the southern deck. This on-‐line facility enables people to display images from their electronic devices to be seen by others around. It will be a great aid in identifying and discussing species discovered. This is the deck where Universities set up their mobile labs etc.
The Southern Deck can be an open space but like the eastern deck it can be protected from the elements by clear heavy curtains.
The Cabins
People allocated to the self-‐contained cabins will find two sleeping rooms each for two people separated by a shower and toilet between them. The larger of the two rooms have the basic essentials for self catering
The Bunk Houses
The bunk houses contain small but comfortable rooms each with their own power outlets. They have been recently refurbished.
The Bunkhouses have twin beds and not bunks
The Camp Ground The campground is open and is covered with a well-‐maintained lawn. There are 15 family sites(suitable for camper vans or larger groups and 9 small sites. Several sites have access to power. There are two camp kitchens although during the BioBlitz only one will be available for campers as the other will be used for round table discussions and for sorting through specimens.
