capaBILItIes (cONt.)Securityas part of its overall services, Digitaria shall develop, maintain and operate a security plan and system that prevents any unauthorized access or tampering with client servers, con-tent, or other digital works or performances. Digitaria will provide no less than industry standard security systems and practices in connection with all such work.

Digitaria will use roles to allow for secure ac-cess to specific areas within the site. users can be assigned roles, which in turn are assigned permissions. permissions can range between executing a feature of the application, view-ing / modifying classes or specific instances of domain objects, and/or access to certain sections. users and roles are managed via an administration web interface.

Development and Staging MethodologiesDevelopment usually occurs on developers’ lo-cal machines and is checked into a repository once unit testing has been completed. If devel-opment servers reside on Digitaria systems, it is backed up daily and code is checked-in and checked-out using subversion. once a build has been determined complete, it is promoted to a staging and/or Q/a environment where it goes through additional integration testing with other systems.

CommunicationsDigitaria has used a highly effective collabo ration tool called basecamp. It is a widely used tool for widely disbursed teams that is easy to use and provides secure messaging, documentation management, scheduling, milestones, to-do’s and more through the web interface.

Integration TacticsDigitaria’s web development team brings industry leading expertise to the table. with widely recognized, internally developed best practices and two members of the w3c htMl5 advisory board, each page is devel-oped with consideration of the latest stan-dards, including: semantic htMl, pure data/presentation separation, section 508 and w3c accessibility, formalized commenting structures and a full Qa process.

Usabiliy TestingDigitaria employs a user centered Design ap-proach to product/service development that emphasizes keeping the end-user “front and center” throughout the project. the underlying philosophy is that product developers, who stay attuned to the concerns, thought-pro-cesses, habits and preferences of current and future users, consequently develop interfaces, products and services that are easier to oper-ate, more functional and more enjoyable for their customers. this results in a higher level of customer satisfaction and increased revenue.
