4.1) How to set up the Digital Set-top box?
i) On the TV Remote Control
Press ‘Source’ button
On the TV screen, select ‘AV1’ or ’AV2’ or ‘HDMI1’ or ‘HDMI2’ (in
accordance to the physical connection)
ii) On the Set-top box Remote Control
Press ‘Menu’ button
On the TV screen, select ‘Installation’
Follow by ‘Quick Scan’

4.2) How to pair the TV remote control to the Digital Set-top box remote control?
i) Hold the TV Remote Control and Set-top box Remote Control such that their
heads are facing each other:
On the Set-top box Remote Control:
- Press ‘SET’ button and hold till the indicator lights up in solid red
without blinking
- Press the ‘Source’ button once, the red indicator light will now blink
slowly
On the TV Remote Control:
- Press ‘Source’ button. The red indicator light will now blink repeatedly
On the Set-top Box Remote Control:
- Press ‘SET’ button again to save setting
Repeat steps 1-4 above for ‘VOL+’,’VOL-’ and ‘ON/OFF’ buttons
Note: This function is only applicable to New Media Solution (NMS) set-top box:

4.3) Friendly User Tips for Seniors
i) After pairing the two remote controls:
Keep the TV remote control aside. Do not use it to control the TV.
Use only the Set-top Box Remote Control to:
- Switch on or off TV – use the POWER button
- Change channel – use arrow key above the button ‘OK’
- Change volume – use VOL+/VOL- buttons
Cautions: You may want to avoid touching the rest of the buttons on the Set-top box remote control so as not to disrupt its setting.

5) Set-top Box Features
i) Recording
Insert a ‘USB Thumb Drive’ to the USB port located at the front of the Set-
top box
On Set-top Box Remote Control:
- Press ‘EPG’ button to view the Electronic Programming Guide
- Press ‘LEFT’ or ‘RIGHT’ to select the programme
- Press ‘UP’ and ‘DOWN’ to select the channels
- Press the ‘RED’ button to record

- Press ‘MENU’ button
- Select ‘Media Player’
- Select ‘PVR’ to view your recorded programme

iii) Subtitles
On Set-top Box Remote Control:
- Press ‘SUB. T’ button
- Press ‘UP’ or ‘DOWN’ to select your preferred subtitling language
- Press ‘OK’ to confirm the selection

6) Troubleshooting
Problem Possible Causes Resolution
Set-top box / IDTV
has no/missing
channels
Channels may have
been deleted
accidentally
Perform Auto/Full scanning of the
channels
No Sound • Program may be
muted
• The A/V cable may
be loose
• Problem with the
selected channel
• Press ‘MUTE’
• Press ‘VOL+’ to increase the
volume
• Switch to another channel to check
if audio is available
• Ensure A/V cables are connected
properly
There is Audio but
no video on the TV
The set-top box may
be in Radio mode
Press ‘TV/Radio
The set-top box is
hung
Power off the set-top box and wait
for 30 secs, then power on again
The Remote
Control seems
unresponsive
• Batteries in the
remote control may
be running out
• Set-top box could be
hung
• Change the batteries in the remote
