As most stories, Digital Stories focus on a specific topic and contain a particular point of view.
With Digital Storytelling, people can share stories at any time and any place.
Digital Storytelling is a digital explanation.◦ Uses technology to explain something such as an
idea or concept.

Types of Digital Storytelling
In order to create a digital story you need some basic tools. Some of which you most likely already have access to.◦ You will need:
Computer Digital Camera Editing Software (can obtain for free) Microphone
What do you need to create a Digital Story?
Encourages collaborative learning.◦ Student problem solve and bounce ideas off one
another. Students learn and present in their
individual learning styles. Allows students to share work with an
outside audience.◦ Which increases writing skills and helps students
practice presenting skills. Provides a meaningful way to learn
technology.

Provides an engaging way for students to learn the lesson being taught.
Students become an active, participatory learner.
Students perform authentic tasks. Students use higher-level thinking skills in
evaluation, application, and synthesis of ideas
Students become a communicator of knowledge to others
Students become a designer of effective and stimulating communication
Students utilize inquiry-based learning
