THE REASONING BEHIND
Maersk Line has to secure it’s Document of Compliance (license to operate).
Compliance
9 Applications to manage the core ship management processes.
20 odd application in the ship management sphere.
IT simplification
Onboarding of new seafarers difficult due to outdated technology & related learning challenges.
User-friendliness
High degree of manual data transfer between applications.
Duplication of work.
Ship and shore do not look at the same data / application.
Inefficiencies
Data transparency in the current legacy apps is very thin.
Use of real time data in decision making not present.
Business intelligence
We deliver and implement the ShipManager solution, a standard off the shelf app, based on industry best practices in a close collaboration / partnership with DNV GL
255 ML & 20 MLL owned vessels. 8 Flags. 8 vessel groups. 44 vessel classes.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
History keeping is very good and easy
to track jobs carried out and get an overview
from them.
C/E
Change has been needed for a long time and hopefully this new system will fulfill if not all then the
majority of the wishes
Captain
As a newly promoted officer I find it
much easier to use the Ship-Manager than the old
system. It is simplified and user friendly.
2/O
Modern look of the system is appealing. Single
program across the fleet will simplify operations and prevent
homemade forms and sheets. Option of attaching files is a big
step ahead.
C/E
Have a very good impression about the
simplified program and it is amazing to have just one program, lesser chances of forgetting since
so many programs integrated into one.
Captain
Having vessel install crew on board is truly
helpful, and especially when we have install crew who are well
trained and experienced.
