004 is actual reading which is total unit consumed and that value will reflect on ur bill as well.according to my info tariff is same for all season and time for domestic users though meter has capability to configure 4 different season for a year and 4 time slabs per season. ou are right 04 shows the total consumed units in 05 "tariff A" and 06 "tariff B". In Islamabad sectors, IESCO started installing these two tariff meters and continued charging people as per old slabs and as per units in serial no.04.But once they replaced all the 3 phase old meters with these new meters then they applied two tariff regime and I have myself seen bills at my uncle's home.I too live in Islamabad Zone-5 area where there is now a mix of old and these new meters. So we are being charged as per old tariff and once IESCO replace the whole town meters with these new meters they will start applying "two tariff regime". In Lahore too, the situation should be the same and as they replace all meters in a locality, they will apply two tariff regime. And this two tariff regime is for domestic loads above 5000Watts but who cares calculating load when you get new connection or when WAPDA officials come to replace meters. So these companies have make it simple for themselves and will apply two tariff regime on all 3 phase meters even if someone is having domestic load below 5000Watts on a 3 phase meter. And in case of single phase meters old tariff slabs will be continued. So its better for people with less loads to switch to a single phase meter or either should have big connection in WAPDA to avoid this two tariff regime on his 3 phase meter. Reply; if you want to see the readings, leave step 1,2,3, it is about time and date etc. step 4 on left side of the digital plate gives right side TOTAL READING on the meter. step 5 on left side of the digital plate gives right side 0FF PEAK hours reading on the meter. step 6 on left side of the digital plate gives right side PEAK hours reading on the meter. Compare the reading at steps 5 & 6 with your bill and you will understand the figures.

Reply; if you want to see the readings, leave step 1,2,3, it is about time and date etc.step 4 on left side of the digital plate gives right side TOTAL READING on the meter.step 5 on left side of the digital plate gives right side 0FF PEAK hours reading on the meter. step 6 on left side of the digital plate gives right side PEAK hours reading on the meter.Compare the reading at steps 5 & 6 with your bill and you will understand the figures.

bove is correct just a sample calculation for the meter pictured above :

peak units consumed = 45.23 (reading 4 in pic)calculation = 45.23 x 18 (rate of peak unit) = 814.14

Off Peakunits consumed = 204.44 (reading 5 in pic)calculation = 204.44 x 12.5 (rate of off peak unit ) = 2555.50

total cost of electricity = 814.14 + 2555.50 = 3369.64

Page 2: Digital Meters

applying taxes   / dutiesGST 17.5% = 3369.64 x 0.175 = 589.69Excise duty = 20% of total units consumed = 249.67 (sum of peak and off peak units) x 0.2 = 48.94NJ (neelum Jhelum) surcharge = 10% of total units consumed = 249.67 x 0.1 = 24.97TV fee = 35Meter rent = 25

Now add them all 3369.64 (cost of electricity) + 589.69 (GST) + 48.94 (ED) + 24.97 (NJ) + 35 (PTV) + 25 (Rent) = 4092.97

a 1 ton ac consumes 1.25 units per hour and a 1.5 ton ac consumes 2.0 units per hour (approx) . now add up your estimated units per month put it in the formula above and u can guess ur electricity bill .. just a desi rule

"every unit in peak hour will get u 20 times cost in rupees and in off peak it will be 15 times "

so

for 1 ton ac

- 1 hour billpeak = rs 25off peak = rs 20

- 1 month bill per hour usage peak = rs 750off peak = rs 600

for 1.5 ton ac

- 1 hour billpeak = rs 40off peak = rs 30

- 1 month per hour billpeak = rs 1200off peak = rs 900

please note : these are estimated bills as per desi rule above actual bill may vary up to 10% in + or –
