Speaker Information

Jeff Mirman currently serves as vice president of marketing for Turner Sports.  In

this role, he is charged with strategic marketing and planning for Turner Sports’ television sports properties, which includes the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, NBA, MLB, NASCAR and professional golf, as well as developing the brand vision for the division’s online and mobile destinations which includes NCAA.com, March Madness Live, PGA.com, and Bleacher Report. In addition, Mirman oversees marketing of the NBAD (NBA Digital) portfolio, featuring NBA TV, NBA.com, NBA League Pass, NBA League Pass Broadband, NBADLeague.com and WNBA.com. Based in Atlanta, he reports to Christina Miller, senior vice president, Turner Sports Strategy, Marketing and Programming and general manager of NBAD.

Jeff MirmanVice President, MarketingTurner Sports

Mirman comes to Turner Sports from Starwood Hotels and Resorts where he was director of brand integration, mobile strategy and interactive marketing, overseeing brand marketing and interactive media.  He led Starwood’s global strategy for mobile applications, as well as the strategy for Sheraton.com which created a unique, branded consumer experience and created a global merchandizing program. 

n his previous marketing roles, he has served in various capacities such as vice president of the Beyond Interactive Advertising Agency, where he was a part of the senior leadership team responsible for defining overall company strategy and direction. He was also online marketing director for Leading Hotels of the World, establishing and executing a formal online marketing strategy. Earlier

Victor leads the Hasbro Global Digital Marketing group responsible for digital marketing for all Hasbro brands such as Transformers, Monopoly, My Little Pony, Nerf, Playskool and others. In his role he drives all digital strategies and activations within the web, mobile, social and digital media. Prior to, he was Senior Vice President of Marketing at Digitas and led the relationships for brands such as, Goodyear, Buick, GMC, Harley-Davidson, Pontiac, IHG, OnStar, Saturn and GM Branded Entertainment. In addition to CRM, digital strategy and promotions, he worked on key partnerships with NASCAR, Marvel, NFL, Bravo, The Apprentice, NCAA, Maxim, Sports Illustrated, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Oprah Winfrey Show, MTV,

Survivor, Transformers The Movie, The Jonas Bros, Glee and Live with Regis and Kelly which have won awards from The Pro Awards, The Reggies, The Effies, MIXX, MITX, and Cannes Lions.

Prior to Digitas, he was Vice President, Creative and Strategy, for Alloy Media and Marketing and Senior Publicist at Viacom parent, National Amusements.

In 2012 he was awarded Top 40 Under 40 by Brand Innovators. Currently serves as a Board Director for the Brand Activation Association and Advisory Board Member for Brand Innovators.

Victor is a Boston native and a graduate of Boston College.

Raja Shankar heads Scotiabank's international digital marketing team. He holds an MBA from Rotman School of Management - University of Toronto and has previously worked at various high profile Canadian organizations such as CHUM (now part of CTV), Corus Entertainment, Cineplex Entertainment, Canwest (Postmedia), Sun Media, and was also briefly involved in a Social Media start-up company.

At Scotiabank, Raja is responsible for the overall strategy and execution of both regional and local social media initiatives for 27 countries in the Caribbean, Central

America and Latin America where Scotiabank operates. Raja spends more and more time building relationships with the countries to fine tune the corporate social and digital media strategy to align with local culture and customer needs.

In addition to being involved with Scotiabank's sponsorship and philanthropic initiatives in the countries, Raja is also personally involved in local Scotiabank's charitable initiatives such as the United Way and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Marvin is currently the Global Marketing Director for Google+. He leads a team that is focused on the positioning, promotion and driving of community and brand engagement across the entire Google social platform, giving people a place to share with the people they love and explore the things they’re into. Since 2011, highlights have included the “That’s a plus” campaign, Google+ Stories, epic Hangouts with icons including the Dalai Lama, President Obama, and Alicia Keys, redefining the Runway with Topshop and helping build the “fastest growing network thingy” in history.

He joined Google in 2010 as the Senior Marketing Director for Google Asia Pacific, which includes Japan, Greater China, Korea, Australia, India and Southeast Asia. In that role, his team led the charge in showing consumers how Google products can make life simpler and more fun, while

also working with businesses to inspire them on how digital marketing can help them grow.

Prior to Google, Marvin has 15 years of experience in both sports and youth marketing, most recently a 7 year stint at Nike where he led marketing efforts for Greater China, Japan and Korea as well as strategic global projects like NIKEiD and NIKE+. His career includes work in strategy, marketing and general management, involving brands like Nickelodeon and Reebok as well as internet start-ups that list Michael Jordan, John Elway and Benchmark Venture Capital as investors.

Derek Van Nostran is vice president of digital marketing for CNN. In this role, he is responsible for strategic consumer marketing efforts for CNN Digital properties. He also leads the team tasked with developing marketing programs aimed to drive consumer adoption and increase brand engagement. He joined CNN in 2012, and is based at CNN’s global headquarters in Atlanta. Van Nostran reports to

Before joining CNN, Van Nostran worked as vice president of brand strategy for the Weather Channel and managed the consumer marketing team responsible for branding the network as well as the digital platform and mobile products. During his tenure, he oversaw integrated strategic marketing partnerships with various high-profile brands. Van Nostran has also held leadership positions at LastMinuteTravel.com and TMP Worldwide.

Michael Pukownik is a Music Industry and Digital Marketing professional with over

18 years of experience. He started his career in Government IT Consulting with the prestigious firm Booz Allen & Hamilton, however since he never leaked any highly classified information, his time spent there was less than newsworthy. In the midst of a spontaneous decision to move to New York City, he was hired by DoubleClick Inc., an industry leader in Web & Email Marketing. While at DoubleClick, Michael also pursued his dream of working in the music business, and started a home-run record label.

After successfully releasing 2 albums in the then ‘underground’ EDM genre (artists that he discovered on MySpace), Michael landed a position at EMI Music, as a Project Manager in charge of building new digital supply chains for the Global Digital Operations unit. His experience naturally led him to more artist-focused roles within EMI, and ultimately as the co-head of Digital Marketing for Capitol Records in Hollywood, CA.

Josh Golden, CMO for Story Worldwide, possesses just short of two decades of award-winning integrated experience in advertising, marketing, technology and production across a wide range of industries and geographies. Throughout his multifaceted career at Paramount, AT&T, Young & Rubicam, NBC Universal, Euro RSCG, Grey and now Story Worldwide, he has demonstrated a keen ability to build and motivate digital teams to develop and deliver programs that drive both results and sizzle in the marketplace.

Golden received his MBA from the Leonard L. Stern School of Business at New York University and his B.S. in Communications from the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College.   He lives in Westchester, NY with his wife and two children.
