LEARNER CASESTUDY Yammer Sign up at Tesco

What’s New??

1

Yammer is a social network for the workplace. Companies such as Tesco have introduced this in order to increase communication among colleagues, both within sites and throughout the company. The structure of the Yammer system allows Tesco colleagues to follow individual members of staff and various groups. For instance, USDAW reps have one group, a particular store or

2

department might constitute another, Yammer Help forming another. The flexibility of the grouping system means that groups are easy to set up, and range from company-wide to particular departments within a site. It was suggested that Usdaw ULRs could promote and assist with signing up colleagues to the Tesco Learn Portal, and the Inform app. Two ULRs in store at Tesco Beccles – Claire

3

Harris and Jeanine Clarke – were each equipped with an USDAW laptop, and using the store Wifi and the Tesco website talked colleagues through the process. When signed up to yammer on the laptop, the ULRs then talked colleagues through the process of downloading the Yammer and Inform apps if the colleagues were interested in having these on personal devices.

Digital Driving Licence - As of July the paper accompaniment to a UK driving licence is being replaced by an online service, which will save the taxpayers “millions each year.” The switch to an online service will change the way in which drivers share their information to third parties and employers; drivers will be able to view their information online via their own account.
