FRONT COVER INSPIRATIONS

ASTRID S

From this album cover,

we like the idea of

Astrid looking directly

into the camera as we

feel as if she is

connecting with her

audience. We also like

her wet hair and her

subtle make up which

makes the front cover

look natural, possibly

emphasising her

personality.

As a group, we do

love the album covers

that are black and

white, including this

one. Also, the font

and the size of her

name and the name

of the album is again

understated. We

think less is more.

SELENA GOMEZ

For this album cover,

we liked the idea of

the artist sitting on an

old stool, in front of a

worn down wall with

only a white t-shirt on.

This goes to show you

don’t need huge

production costs for

something as big as an

album cover to be

effective.

Again, the artist has wet

hair in this photo and

very little make up from

what we can see. This

cover does not have a lot

of colour in it which is

what we prefer as a

group. The font and

style of the artists name

and the album name is

just black and the size is

small which again is

current.

BEYONCE

This album cover is

similar to the first one we

chose. Subtle make up,

slick back hair and

Beyoncé looking directly

into the camera. We liked

the one bracelet on her

right wrist as we thought

this must have been

something personal to her

and this highlights parts

of her personality.

However, with the

font and size of her

name and the album

name we were not too

keen on this. This is

because the colour

clashes with

Beyoncé's skin and it

is not as bold as it

could have been.

BIRDY

For this cover, we liked

the idea of Birdy’s hair

not having much effort

put into it as it looks

natural. Also, her

make up is completely

natural and looks worn

from the day before as

there is black under

her eyes which we

disliked.

As a group we didn’t like

her t-shirt in this picture

as it is not very feminine

and the stripes look too

bold in the album. Also,

the font of this is different

from the name to the

album cover name which

is odd. Therefore, we

wanted the album name

and the artists name to be

the same font but maybe

alter in size.

JESS GLYNNE

We loved the idea of

Jess’s wet hair in this

photo over her face as

this looks very natural.

Also, the make up in

this photo has been

worn and it is actually

smudged which is what

we dislike.

We like the

simple baby pink

background of

the cover as it is

plain.

MEGAN TRAINOR

This album is completely

different to the ones I have

annotated above. We like

the effect on Megan and the

way there is only three

different colours involved in

the cover without it being

black and white. This

makes it highly effective and

it stands out.

ARIANA GRANDE

In this album cover,

we can see Ariana has

had her make-up, hair

and her outfit has a lot

of effort and thought

put into it. We like

the idea again of her

sitting casually on a

stool. We do like the

costume and make up

idea however we do

prefer the more

natural side.

In this one again her

name and the album

cover name is different

fonts which is not what

we like as a group.

However, the size and

colour of the fonts is

simple and this doesn’t

over crowd the front

cover itself.
