Conventions of existing music promotional packages by Hasan Ali

Our digipak uses conventions of existing music promotional packages, this is because I thoroughly conducted research into other artists digipaks of all sorts of genres and analysed them, also analysing the original album artwork for our chosen song, with the knowledge I accumulated throughout my research I began carefully planning the design of our digipak to be produced, I did this using existing conventions and keeping similarities.

Using conventions of existing music promotional packages

As you can see below both mine and the original digipak contain the name of the artist and song, in the same order the other similarities are the bright colours, peculiar background, which was created to enhance the dance theme

Similarities

As you can see from the pictures below Porter Robinsons artwork is very consistent in the style of a mysterious background and simply displaying his name and the album name, a design which we have followed

You can see from other genres below that all album covers are consistent of the same structure including the album name and artist this convention has been used for our final media product as well, successfully overlapping text on a background image

Similarities of the back

Overall the similarities between the back of our digipak and other media products are extremely undeniable a lot of research and care was taken into making our products and designing them in a professional and similar manner to existing digipaks
