• A cell is the building block of every living thing. Example: muscle cell.

• A group of similar cells working together makes a tissue, example: muscle tissue.

• A group of different tissues working together makes an organ, example: heart.

• A group of different organs working together makes an organ system, example: circulatory system.

• Many different organ system make up an organism!!

1. Incisors : sharp to cut

and bite food.

2. Canines: Sharp and

cusps and grooves to grind , crush & chew the food.

Carbohydrates:

are used as a fuel for the body, provides body with energy for respiration and growth.

ProteinsProvide the body with molecules needed to make new cells. Useful for growth and repair.

Fats Stored under the skin, acts as a heat insulator to keep body warm. It is a good store of energy.

Micro-organisms in food production

Yeast is a fungus used in bread making.

Yoghurt makingA bacterium is used to make yoghurt from milk.

First milk is boiled to kill any microorganisms, then cooled to 40⁰C, then yoghurt is mixed with milk and kept warm for 6 hours till milk curdles (stiffens).
