Incandescent Light BulbsTThese are the light bulbs we are all familiar with. They are designed in many types of fittings, screw fit, bayonet, etc. These are the least efficient bulb and cost the most to run.

Cmpact Flurescent Lamps (CFL)TThese are the newer low energy types. Originally they looked a little strange. They are 80% cheaper to run than the old incandescent bulbs. CFL’s have changed a lot in the last few years noticeably in two ways.

New Cmpact FlurescentTThey used to look quite ugly, but as you can now see they now look like traditional bulbs. They also used to take a long time to get to full brightness, this is not the case now, many take around 30 seconds to get to full bright-nness. So a great choice that will save you money. CFL’s are also more reliable and less prone to blowing.

LED LightingTThis is the latest technology and they are 90% cheaper to run than the old incandescent bulbs. Unlike the CFL’s they provide instant full light when turned on, just like the incandescent.

LED Sparkling LightingTThese are now available to fit into almost any type of light fitting. There’re set to take over from the old incandescent bulbs and CFL’s. They come in many new cool designs such as the one on the left which provides an amamazing sparkle effect to your lighting.

LED D wnlightsAAvailable to fit into the down lights replacing the old halogen bulbs. Again far more reliable offering years of service and still 90% cheaper to run. For example if you were to run 6 halogen downlights for 8 hours per day it wouwould cost around £260 pounds per year, running 6 LED down-lights would cost just £15 for the same time
