    SUCTION ASPIRATION

Also known as vacuum curettage," apowerful suction tube with a sharpcutting edge is inserted into the womb

through the dilated cervix. The suctiondismembers the body of the developingbaby and tears the placenta from thewall of the uterus, sucking blood, amniotic fluid, placental tissue, andfetal parts into a collection bottle.

    DILATATION AND CURETTAGE (D&C)

When the baby is too big to be sucked outby the suction method a D&C is performed.

In this technique, the cervix is dilated or

stretched to permit the insertion of a loopshaped steel knife. The body of the baby is

cut into pieces and removed and the

placenta is scraped off the uterine wall.

    RU 486

Is a pill that uses two powerful synthetic hormones, mifepristone and misoprostol to chemically induce

abortions in women 5-to-9 weeks pregnant. Using RU

486 requires at least three trips to the abortion facility.

In the first visit, the woman is given a physical exam, and if she has no obvious contra-indications (smoking,

asthma, obesity, etc., that could make the drug deadly

to her), she takes the RU 486 pills. RU 486 blocks the

action of progesterone, the natural hormone vital tomaintaining the rich nutrient lining of the uterus.

The developing baby starves as the nutrient lining

disintegrates. At a second visit 36 to 48 hours later, thewoman is given a dose of artificial prostaglandins,

usually misoprostol, which initiates contractions and

usually causes the baby to be born. Most women abort

during the 4-hour waiting period at the clinic, but about30% abort later at home, work, etc., as many as 5 days

later. A third visit about 2 weeks later determines

whether the abortion has occurred or a surgical

abortion is necessary to complete the procedure

(5 to 10% of all cases)

    SALT POISONING

used after 16 weeks of pregnancy, when enough fluid hasaccumulated in the amniotic fluid sac surrounding the baby.

A needle is inserted through the mothers abdomen and 50-

250 ml of amniotic fluid is withdrawn and replaced with a

solution of concentrated salt. The chemical solution alsocauses painful burning and deterioration of the babys skin.

The baby breathes in, swallowing the salt, and is poisoned.

Usually, after about an hour, the child dies. The mother

goes into labor about 33 to 35 hours after and delivers aburned, and shriveled baby left to die.

    DILATATION (DILATION) AND EVACUATION

    (D&E)

Aborts unborn children as old as 24 weeks, and is

similar to the D&C. The difference is that forceps with

sharp metal jaws are used to grasp parts of the

developing baby, which are then twisted and torn away. This continues until the childs entire body is removed

from the womb. Because the babys skull has often

hardened to bone by this time, the skull must be

crushed to be removed. If not carefully removed, sharpedges of the bones may cause cervical laceration.

Bleeding from the procedure may be profuse.

    YOUR PHILOSOPHY:

  • 7/31/2019 Different Kinds of Abortion

    17/22

    SO.. IS ABORTION ETHICAL?

For such a common argument, the facts get easily

clouded. But the answer is no. There is no excuse for

    murder.

    Logically

All life has a beginning. That which is not living

    does not grow.

    Intelligent LifePersonhood must exist from

    conception onward..

    Medically

Doctors can determine the sex of a child while in the

womb. Various surgeries are performed on unbornchildren. Through technology doctors can keep babies

alive outside of the womb after about four months of

    gestation.

    Legally

The Constitution states that humans have the protection

of law whether citizens or not.

Whether one is capable of speaking or taking care of

oneself has no bearing on one's human existence.

Spirituallythe essence of life is spirit

Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: See! I

will bring spirit into you, that you may come tolife. [Ez. 37:5]

WE are created in the image and likeness of theTriune God.

Then God said: "Letus make man in ourimage, afterour likeness. Let them havedominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of

the air, and the cattle, and over all the wildanimals and all the creatures that crawl on theground." [Gn. 1:26]

The Human Spiritis Complete at its Inception. A

    person only gains knowledge, understanding,

and wisdom with the passage of time. The

intellect is fully active. Following creation, the

human spirit's intelligence is fully occupied

associating with his or her rapidly forminghuman body. Each spirit is aware of and

sensitive to its bodily encasement from

    conception onward
