Area, Birth and looks First, let’s start off with area and birth. Babies are born in Brazil and they stay there for the rest of there life. A mom Black Caiman lays to about 50 to 60 eggs. A female Black Caiman breeds once every 2 to 3 years. At first if you saw a Black Caiman you would think it’s a rock!

Extinction! Sadly, Black Caimans are being killed

for their shiny skin to make leather products. It’s been illegal to hunt black caimans for a couple of years, but that

hasn’t stopped poachers from stealing their leather skin! Something sad to know is

that the black caiman species has dropped by 99% in the 20th century. That means

one percent of the black caiman population are left. This is really sad because the

caiman is such a rare and special animal. We need to product its rainforest habitat and stop buying its leather products. I hope you will help save this awesome

animal!
