When I was planning my music video I decided that I wanted the start of my music video to be diegetic and then change to non-diegetic. To do this I filmed a phone playing the song I wanted and then kept the sound instead of deleting it. I lined it up with the non-diegetic track and used a crossfade to make it change seamlessly.
