The City of Covington is a council-manager form of government. The Council is made up of six members with three members elected from the East Ward and three members elected from the West Ward and the Mayor.

• The position of Assistant City Manager is responsible for development and administration of all phases of the City’s operation as assigned by the City Manager. Makes recommendations to the City Manager, pres-ents to City Council, contributes to budget proposals, works on special projects and with departments as assigned, and responds to citizen concerns and the media.

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, public administration, business administration, management, or closely related field. A Master’s Degree is preferred. The candidate should have five (5) years of increas-ingly responsible experience at a management level in local government or a related field. Any combination of experience and education that meets the requirements of the job.

• Hiring salary range is $90,875 – $133,452.
