Iar-Uachtarán Chumann Luthchleas Gael Críostóir Ó Cuana will launch “A History of Cork GAA 1987-2011” on Tuesday, December 4 th at Blackrock Hurling Club. This attractive new book should be on everyone’s Christmas list and will retail at €15, available from your local club. Presentation of RedFM SHL Cheques The presentation of cheques for the RedFM Senior Hurling League took place recently at the RedFM Studios. The prize fund of €11,000 was distributed as follows: Erin's Own (Winners): €4000 Newtownshandrum (Runners-up): €2000 St. Finbarr's, Ballymartle, Na Piarsaigh, Carrigtwohill (top six qualifiers beaten in the knock-out stages): €1000 each A draw for a further €1000 was also be made between the other four clubs who played all their games but finished outside the top six: Bride Rovers, Courcey Rovers, Glen Rovers and Killeagh. Courcey Rovers were the lucky ones who took home €1000! The event was attended by representatives of all the clubs involved, along with County Board officers and Senior Hurling manager Jimmy Barry Murphy, and was hosted by RedFM CEO Fiona Darcy. Our thanks to RedFM for their generous sponsorship! Erin’s Own Chairman Liam O’Connell accepts the winners’ cheque from County Chairman, Bob Ryan. Presentation of RedFM SHL Cheques The presentation of cheques for the RedFM Senior Hurling League took

place recently at the RedFM Studios. The prize fund of €11,000 was

distributed as follows:

Erin's Own (Winners): €4000

St. Finbarr's, Ballymartle, Na Piarsaigh, Carrigtwohill (top six qualifiers

beaten in the knock-out stages): €1000 each

A draw for a further €1000 was also be made between the other four

the lucky ones who took home €1000!

Other League Presentations Cheques for all County Leagues other than the RedFM Senior Hurling

League were presented at Rochestown Park Hotel on November 27th.

The Kelleher Shield winners, Nemo Rangers, received a cheque for €4475,

while the runners-up, Castlehaven, collected €1270.

All other League winners received €3000 each, with €1000 going to each

runner-up.

A total fund of €39,715 has now been distributed to clubs in prize money

for this year's County Leagues. For the full Roll of Honour, see

The 2013 Football Leagues will commence on the weekend of February

17th, while the Hurling Leagues begin on the weekend of March 10th.

Rebel Óg Award for Ian Maguire The latest winner of the Rebel Óg Monthly Awards sponsored by the

Rochestown Park Hotel in association with RedFM and Irish Examiner

Media Partners and Cummins Sports Award Sponsors is Ian Maguire of

St. Finbarr's GAA Club, who was honoured for his contribution to his

club’s victory in the Premier 1 Minor Football Final. Ian collected his

award at a special function at Rochestown Park Hotel attended by attended by his family, club officers and officers of Rebel Óg and Cork

County Board.

Rebel Óg/Mercy Foundation Fun Walks Rebel Óg and the Mercy Foundation recently hosted a night of celebration

for the Fun Walks which have taken place over the last few weeks, and

are still ongoing.

The hard work put in by clubs has paid off, with the venture having

raised €54,650 to date.

Clubs were invited to the Rochestown Park Hotel where they were joined

by members of Rebel Óg and the Mercy Foundation to mark the event

and for the official handing over of the cheques.

Rebel Óg and Strategic Plan Reviews On November 13th, Cork GAA clubs were presented with a very informative

review of the Coiste na nÓg/Rebel Óg two-year trial period, including

recommendations for continuing these structures. Motions to this effect

were passed at the County Board meeting of November 21st, and will be

put to all clubs to be voted on at County Convention. The meeting of

November 21st also included a presentation on the progress of the Cork

GAA Strategic Plan, and this presentation can be downloaded from the

Admin section of the Cork GAA website.

Northside & District Award for St. Vincent’s Congratulations to St. Vincent’s GAA Club, who recently collected the

Northside & District Award in recognition of their achievements in winning

the County Premier Intermediate Football Final.
