From a Cold Cube of Ice to an 8,000 Dollar Diamond Winner Savannah, GA- After 3 days of melting ice and over a thousand contest entries, WTOC selected the winner of its diamond drop contest, sponsored by Harkleroad Diamonds & Fine Jewelry. The winner of WTOC diamond drop was Mrs. Anita Smith, who won a loose diamond valued at $8,000 from Harkleroad Diamonds and Fine Jewelry For 2 weeks contestants had the chance to guess how long would it take for a diamond to drop out of a large cube of ice and donate to the Children Miracle Network. Contestants had to guess the day, hour, minute and even to the second of when the diamond would actually drop. On Monday, April 13 th at 5:00 p.m. the ice began to melt and the diamond drop countdown began. View- ers could watch the countdown of the diamond drop live stream from WTOC website and their app. The diamond dropped out of the cube of ice on Friday morning, April 17 th , at 7:27:27, and out the thou- sand entries Mrs. Anita Smith guessed the diamond would drop 2 minutes before.
