Faisal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-SabahDeputy Managing Director, Relations & IT

I would like to send cables of congratulations to all employees of the Kuwaiti oil sector on the advent of the New Year, entreat-ing Allah, the Almighty, to make the year 2016 a happy year for our beloved Kuwait; in addition to enabling us to achieve the ambitions and objectives of the Kuwaiti oil sector on top of which reinforcing the international status of the State of Kuwait particularly under the huge challenges which the oil industry confronts worldwide.

Definitely, we do not exaggerate when we say that the State of Kuwait has realized earlier such huge challenges which the oil industry confronts locally and internationally. Accordingly, it has allotted plans, programs and strategies to surmount such challenges. Therefore, it commenced the implementation of the Clean Fuel Project (CFP) which is one of the most important development projects that is aimed at developing Mina Abdul-lah refinery and Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery to convert them into an integrated refining complex which can efficiently meet the requirements of the international markets; besides meeting the needs of the local market from various petroleum products with high quality as per the international criteria allotted in this do-main. It has also started implementing Al-Zour refinery project which boosts the status of the country in such industry.

With reference to the projects of exploration and production, we cannot disregard the projects and modern technologies which KPC and its subsidiaries have approved and applied to deal with and develop the heavy oil wells. I believe that it is also important to mention that the State of Kuwait has opened the door in front of the private sector to take part in developing petrochemical industry as part of its belief in the important role which the private sector plays in such industry.

In fact, the ability to confront and surmount proficiently such huge challenges is a fruit of tremendous efforts exerted by the oil sector’s employees who are looking forward to achieving a prosperous future for our beloved Kuwait.
