    R E S U L T S

    isual evaluationUptake of FMT in the lesions were correlated with theuptake of FDG. In 36 patients with malignant lesions,FMT-PE T had better contrast of tumor visualization to thesurrounding normal structures in 27 patients (75 ). Thebinomial proportion test revealed that the contrast of FMTuptake in the lesion was significantly superior to the FDG(p < 0.005).

    Histopathologic examination revealed that 34 of 43patients had SCC. Most of the patients with SCC werepositive for both FMT and FDG-PE T uptake as shown inFigure 1. FMT-PET and FDG-PET showed an abnormaluptake in 30 and 32 of 34 patients with SCC, respectively.
