STEPS IN THIS TASK INCLUDE: Exploring prior experienceLeveraging Goldfire, users research across semantically indexed knowledgebases of internal and external knowledge to quickly find answers to why aproduct failure is occurring.

Performing a high-level causal analysis Using Goldfire’s Root Cause Analysis tool, users identify the root cause ofthe failure of a product or process building a cause-effect model, withinGoldfire, to identify the core problems that caused the failure.

Once core problems are identified, Goldfire’s Solution Manager automatically generates problem statements and queries across knowledgebases to identify possible solutions to the core problem(s). Optionally, userscan then build a functional model of their system, within Goldfire, in orderto further analyze a product or process. Function models help engineersand scientists to analyze the design of products or processes, in terms oftheir functions, and identify areas for improvement.

Performing a deep causal analysisIn this step, users leverage the problem statements created in the initialhigh-level causal analysis as a starting point for deeper analysis.
