The Texmate Tiger is a super-intelligent digital panel meter with p
grammable logic and advanced digital signal processing capabiliti
Its innovative modular design creates a highly flexible meter able
process almost any input signal type from one of more than 75 s
gle and dual input signal conditioner types. With relay, analog, a
serial communications output options available on an output modu
the meter becomes a powerful instrument for monitoring, measu
ment, control, and communication applications.
An auto-sensing high or optional low voltage AC / DC power sup
circuit means the meter can be powered from almost any pow
supply source. User selectable 5, 10, or 24 VDC excitation voltag
are available to power the input module.
The meter uses smart digital filtering and input averaging. T
meter’s resident software is designed to allow maximum user fle
bility through logical menus. All programming takes place in t
main or setpoint programming modes. The meter has a wide ran
of built-in software features. For more details on software featu
see Specifications on Page 2.

Program Button The PROGRAM button is used to move from one program step tothe next. When pressed at the same time as the UP button, it initiatesthe main programming mode. When pressed at the same time asthe DOWN button, it initiates the setpoint programming mode.
Up Button
When in the operational display, pressing the UP button initiates theviewing setpoints 2, 4, 6, and peak readings routine.Once into theroutine, pressing the UP button moves through the steps of the routine.
When setting a displayed parameter during programming, the UPbutton is used to increase the value of the displayed parameter.
Down Button When in the operational display, pressing the DOWN button initiatesthe viewing setpoints 1, 3, 5, and valley readings routine. Onceinto the routine, pressing the DOWN button moves through thesteps of the routine.
When setting a displayed parameter during programming, the DOWNbutton is used to decrease the value of the displayed parameter.
Annunciator LEDs The annunciator LEDs may be programmed to indicate the alarm sta-tus.They are labeled from left to right: SP1, SP2, SP3, SP4, SP5, SP6.

Seven Segment LED Displays The five, seven segment LED displays are used to display the meterinput signal readings. They also display the programming codesand settings during programming. The display is available in red, green, or super bright red LEDs.
Program Lockout Switch When the PROGRAM LOCKOUT switch is set to the OFF position, all programmable meter functions can be changed except for set-ting the setpoints.
When set to position 2, the PROGRAM LOCKOUT switch prevents anyprogramming changes being made to the meter functions except forsetting the setpoints. If programming is attempted, the meter displays'LOC'. Position 2 allows programming parameters to be viewed but notchanged. See the
Display PCB without Faceplate and Bezel diagram.
Setpoint Lockout Switch
When the SETPOINT LOCKOUT switch is set to the OFF positiothe setpoints can be programmed.
Once the setpoint values have been entered and the SETPOILOCKOUT switch set to position 1, the setpoints can be viewed but changed. All other programming functions, except setpoint control futions, can be carried out provided the PROGRAM LOCKOUT switchset to OFF. See the Display PCB without Faceplate and Bezel diagra
Error Message “Err”
Error messages usually occur during calibration procedures. Tthree most likely causes of an error message are:1) The full scale and zero signals were too similar. The high input (
scale) signal must be at least 1000 counts greater than the linput (zero) signal (positive and negative values are allowed).
2) The scaling requirement exceeded the capability of the me( – 19999 to +32766).
3) No input signal present, or incorrect connections.
Rear Panel FunctionsProgram Lockout Pin By connecting the LOCK pin (pin 8 on the main PCB) to the COMON pin (pin 11 on the main PCB), the set-up program is locked o
The programmed meter parameters and setpoints can be viewbut not changed when the meter is in the "locked out" mode.
Hold Reading Pin When the HOLD pin (pin 9) is connected to the COMMON pin (1the displayed reading is frozen. However, A/D conversions continand as soon as pin 9 is disconnected from pin 11 by the switch, tupdated reading is instantly displayed when released by a switcontact. The HOLD pin can also be used to reset the following:
• Reset of total while in the total display.
• Reset of peak while in the peak display.
• Reset of valley while in the valley display.
• Reset of tare, peak, and valley while in the tare function.
• If the relays are latched, they are also reset with the above topeak, valley, or tare setting.
Display Test and Reset Pin When the TEST pin (pin 10) is connected to the COMMON p(pin 11), all segments of the display light up and five eights afive decimal points (8.8.8.8.8.) are displayed for three secondThis detects any missing segments in the display. The micprocessor is also reset during this time, losing all RAM settinsuch as peak and valley, and any settings set up in Code 9.
Common Pin To activate the HOLD, TEST and RESET, or LOCK pins from trear of the meter, the respective pins have to be connected to tCOMMON pin (pin 11).
