Findings / Learnings
Based on the studies performed, such manufacturing assessment, CAE simulations and cost estimation, the DFSS team got to the conclusion that the best solution is the concept 4.
Project Scope:
Reduction of complexity, optimization of assembly process and improvement of quality.
Project Opportunity:
Opportunity of productive improvement the through reducing complexity and optimization of assembly process of brace wheel house in the BIW. Through internal and external benchmarking was identified the most used attaching types of the brace wheel house by the main OEMs, which will be the objects of study of this project.
Implementation
Thus we believe that changing the process and replacing the MIG Weld by adhesive structural, ME body can reduce complexity and optimize the assembly process of brace wheel house in the BIW.
