DFA COACHES ADAM, ANTHONY, DAMI, ERIC, JAYLEN WHY ARE WE HERE? Project Mission: to develop a simple, intuitive, system which allows feedback and communication to be easily and willingly shared, not only within DFA groups, but more intentionally for use between DFA groups and their coaches Elevator Pitch: for DFA group members and their coaches who need a better way of communicating with one another, the [communication guide] is a simple, intuitive, system that encourages communication, unlike the existing system that is severely underutilized, our system will directly link and familiarize the DFA groups with their respective coaches, creating a genuine, long lasting relationship that fosters open communication PRODUCT BOX Creating Solutions for Life Benefits: Creating open communication between groups and coaches Provides a system that is adjustable and customizable Building relationships and networking THE NOT LIST In Scope: Laying out a communication plan Creating an engaging relationship between coach & group Make the program intuitive and simple Out of Scope: Changing current design process Forcing groups to over communicate Unresolved: Level of required contact between coaches and the groups (be aware of burnout and forced communication) MEETING THE NEIGHBORS Our main two target groups are the DFA Groups and their respective coaches. OUR SOLUTION DFA GROUPS DFA COACHES The goal of our program will be to integrate the two, in order to establish a better relationship. We feel that, if the relationship accessable early, and up front, that the line of communication will be more likely to be utilized when the groups run into problems SIMPLE SOLUTIONS 1. Have required initial, as well as, quarterly meetings in order to get the relationship built early breaking the ice is an important step in this relationship 2. Have these meetings be very interactive, positive, and encouraging 3. Building more than a simple relationship It is essential that the students build lasting, quality relationships in order for feedback to be genuine on all levels (this also provides the student with a reliable contact for future ideation projects, etc.) PROJECT RISKS One of the largest risks lies within the implementation of the program How will the students react to interaction with coaches? How will the coaches react to increased interaction? How will they perceive our outside views and approach to communication? (once we analyze the current situation in which they operate, this issue will become clearer) HOW LONG? Week 1: Scoping Meeting Week 2: Deliverable 1 Week 4: Deliverable 2 Week 5: Midpoint Review Meeting Week 6: Deliverable 3 Week 8: Deliverable 4 Week 9: Final Review WHATS GOING TO GIVE? If we are going to design a program for a program that will be user based, their happiness needs to be paramount. Our main issues need to be the quality of relationships that are being built, and using those to our advantage. Feedback, simple project obstacles, and directional advice will all improve with increased familiarity between the two groups. Also, they must first trust us, and our program, which will be an important factor in the product implementation process. For our product, our biggest give will lie within the scope of the project, but only time will tell to what extent. WHAT DOES IT TAKE? Jaylen: Facilitator and Group Leader Dami: Main Client Contact Adam: Logistics Eric: Editor Anthony: Note Taker We believe that the program can easily be implemented without funding, but will call for a change in the norm. There needs to be a heightened sense of awareness and enthusiasm in order for the program to be most successful.
