In support of the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to makeDubai the Happiest City in the World, DEWA launched three smartinitiatives, the Electric Vehicle (EV) Green Charger Initiative is one of them.
This initiative supports the following:

• Development of the first public electric vehicle charginginfrastructure in the region to encourage the switch overfrom petrol vehicles to electric vehicles.
• Currently, 200 stations are installed with 360 outlets,located in highly frequented areas of Dubai including:
• Petrol Stations, Shopping Malls, Parks,Airports, Hospitals, Government Offices,Residential Complexes, etc.

Types of EV Green Chargers
Operation & Maintenance
DEWA EV Green Chargers units are smart units which are connected through a Charge PointManagement System (CPMS) with status and locations of chargers available via the DEWAapp. This system enables DEWA to reduce operational costs and increase response time byallowing for remote operations of the EV Green Chargers, clearing of faults, and allowing formaintenance through remote firmware upgrades.
• Cooperation with Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and Ministry of Energy in rolling out local and federal EV incentives.
• DEWA announced the incentive of free charging on DEWA’s public electric vehicle infrastructure from 01.09.2017 to 31.12.2019 for registered EV Green Charger users.
