During the first quarter of 2013, Corporación Favorita, the biggest retailer in Ecuador and one of the largest retailers in Latin America, was looking for a partner to design and develop their mobile strategy.
Corporación Favorita was looking for quality, efficiency, subject matter expertise, and fresh ideas for reaching more customers through the implementation of their mobile strategy. By mid 2013, Devsu was selected among various important mobile development companies as their partner to develop and implement the company’s mobile strategy.
Since then, Devsu has been working closely with the corporation’s marketing team not only to develop high-quality mobile applications but also to provide support and ideas to increase their market share by providing their clients with amazing mobile tools that increase their engagement with Corporación Favorita’s brands.
THE CHALLENGEThe Shopping Assistant application for Supermaxi was the first mobile application released. Supermaxi, the most popular supermarket chain in Ecuador, is the main brand of Corporación Favorita.
The application was developed to reach the three most popular smartphone platforms in Ecuador: Android, iPhone, and BlackBerry.
Devsu provided all the expertise and guidance to create an engaging and clean user experience for each of the abovementioned mobile platforms. Devsu’s user interface experts worked together with the client in order to create a modern, easy to use, and useful application, always following best practices and the guidelines defined for each of the operating systems.
After the functionalities and user experience were designed, Devsu’s development team built a native application for each OS, ensuring maximum performance and usability.

THE �RESULTS
The Supermaxi Shopping Assistant application has received incredible acceptance by the public, currently reaching an increase of around 2000 daily downloads and a 4+ star rating on the app stores. It is quickly becoming the most popular and most downloaded application in Ecuador.
Devsu continues to work with Corporación Favorita on the second phase of the project in order to maintain its absolute leadership on marketing strategies using mobile technology in Ecuador.
FISHHOUND
Fishhound is the biggest and the most complete fishing community in the United States, featuring information and reports for lakes and rivers and a virtual store. Its native iOS and Android applications provide real time information, updated on the fly by the community.

Devsu built the mobile app for the biggest insurance broker in Ecuador. The client wanted to reach their diverse customer base, so we built a solution that was cost efficient yet flexible enough to reach the main mobile operating systems: iOS, Android, Windows Phone, and BlackBerry.

SHOCK.CO
The Colombian publishing group ICCK was looking for a partner to completely redesign and ramp up the Web presence for the biggest music portal in Latin America, Shock.co. ICCK was looking for a partner that could bring product and software development expertise in an agile setting. After a thorough vetting and selection process, Devsu was selected as the agency to take on this challenge.
Devsu worked with the Shock.co team through a lean and rapid iteration process, which allowed both teams to achieve fast results and have a fluid product development process. The end product was released to the public only four months after the project started.
THE CHALLENGE
The old Shock.co portal was built in Drupal 6. The new version, developed by Devsu, was built in Drupal 7. All the information from the old site was to be migrated to this new site; this included thousands of articles, events, and audio and video files.

Devsu was able to deliver this portal within four months using Drupal 7 as the framework for this Web application. Drupal 7 was integrated with the latest JavaScript libraries (backbone) in order to provide a single-page application with a state of the art music player. The application is used by 50000 daily users and hosts more than 8000 songs and 6000 bands. With the redesign of the Shock.co portal and Web application, ICCK has been able to increase its traffic by 60% since last year.

The global engineering firm Foster Wheeler chose Kentico as their platform to build their new website and CMS. Devsu worked together with Foster Wheeler and Ciplex to develop a powerful content management system that included integration with third party services and APIs such as Google search engine.

Autometer needed to expose their products to their clients making easy for them to find the right product for their needs, and to find a distributor where they could buy the equipment. Devsu satisfied those needs by delivering a modern and easy to use content management system and website built over Drupal.

Auto Meter Products Inc., a leading company on automotive instrumentation and solutions, deemed it necessary to reach their market directly through an engaging solution for car enthusiasts who wanted to create customized gauges.
Auto Meter needed a tool to allow their clients to customize and order gauges with any combination of colors, materials, fonts, and textures. The process of ordering had to be integrated into their production system so they could quickly manufacture the user created gauges and deliver them worldwide.
Additionally, the platform had to be flexible, allowing them to configure different pricing for every option and to configure new materials, models, and colors to continuously update their product offering.
THE CHALLENGE
Devsu developed a powerful and easy to use website that allows users to create and order their own customized gauges with just a few clicks.
Built over Drupal, some of its features include a secure e-commerce platform, an easy to use CMS, integration with UPS for order tracking, and displaying of information that allows their manufacturing process to rapidly produce and deliver the custom gauges.
THE SOLUTION
Immediately after launching in November 2011, the AutoMeterCustomShop.com website helped Auto Meter Products Inc. to dramatically increase the sales of custom gauges to their customers. In just a few months, the initial investment for this Web application was recovered.
The cost of selling the gauges has reduced significantly since the user does all the customization, and the whole process to get this information is now automated. With the new Web application, there is no need for extra overhead to go through the parts and accessories required to build a custom gauge.
AutoMeterCustomShop.com continues to offer new gauge options, and it is the only known platform that allows clients to buy this type of product with such a high level of customization, making Auto Meter the absolute leader in this vertical market.

GI JOE RETALIATION GAME
Devsu teamed up with Unfold Agency to develop this arcade style video game. The game was developed for the movie studio Paramount Pictures in support of their motion picture G.I. Joe: Retaliation. The game was served and translated to over 50 markets in two formats, as a stand-alone Web application and as a Facebook application.

Data are useful only if they are transformed into meaningful information. UCLA had a lot of data from their websites obtained through Google Analytics. Devsu partnered with Fraser Communications to provide a platform to transform and import that data into UCLA’s data analysis system, making the information relevant and valuable for decision makers.

Located in California, Sensory Co. is a leader in atmospheric special effects for simulation and training environments. Devsu developed a platform for allowing users to configure their equipment with advanced smell and spray motion effects. Using an intuitive and easy to use interface, Sensory’s customers can configure advanced effects using multiple channels and timelines.

Shop the Farms is a large B2B website that allows flower shops in the United States to connect directly to flower growers in Latin America. Through the Shop the Farms website, clients can obtain credit, negotiate, buy flowers, and track their orders. Growers and Freight Forwarders, on the other hand, has a platform to quickly connect to their buyers without the complexities of managing the exportation process manually.
