Concept Introduction, Development and Maintenance of the Complete In-House Online Examination Portal including Various Online Applications Forms along with SMS and Payment Gateway, Internal Assessment Portal, Table Marking Data Feeding Online Portal, Computerisation of Registration Branch and Various Sets of Examination, Student/ College/ Department/ Staff Dashboards etc.

2. Concept Introduction, Development and Maintenance of the Complete In-House Online Admission Portal for the various courses running at the Punjabi University, Patiala Main Campus, its Neighbourhood Campuses, Regional Centres and Constituent Colleges from last six years.

▪ This application collects admission related data of aspiring candidates interested in seeking admissions to various courses in the university. It includes contact details, qualifications, demographic and other information.

▪ Applicants have complete ease of filling the forms online at any place.

Features also include editing, download facility of application form & admit cards followed by the online payment of processing fee.

▪ Protecting the security and confidentiality of Application/ Data by

implementing three tier architecture:

This ensures Secure Online Application and provide security against attacks like hacking, unauthorized access controls, SQL-Injection, Cross Site Scripting, De-phasing and Data security and other attacks.

▪ Four Payment Modes have been integrated in this application:

Online: Net Banking and Payment through Debit/Credit Card. Offline: Pay-in-slip of State Bank of Patiala and Punjabi University Cashier Fee Receipt (Patiala Campus only).

In these processes, I worked as an Expert Technical Member during the selection of Payment gateway and Implementation (coding and testing) of the finalised payment gateway with the Online Admission Portal to facilitate candidates to Pay Admission Fees in Online Mode with 99.99% success rate.

▪ Integrated SMS gateway facilitates for fee confirmation response,

admission/ entrances test/ result alerts and password recovery.

▪ Entrance Tests Activities:

Generation and avail Online Admit card along with photograph and signature.

Preparation of Cut-List, Attendance Sheets with biometric data. On-Spot Registration and Form Filling Portal and Assign Roll No’s.

▪ The Online Submission of Admission Application forms was intended for:

52+ University Departments. All Regional Centres and Neighbourhood Campuses of Punjabi University Patiala.

▪ Other Important Involved Activities:

o Technical Expert Member in the selection of Domain Name Registration, SMS Gateway, Payment Gateway and Web-Sever etc.

o Registered Online Secure and Safe web domain name on ERNET India.

o Development of various on-demand portal for administrative/ help desk team like password recovery, latest fee status, on-spot fee and form filling etc.

o Train technical team for testing and implementation of online admission system and update portal as per testing results and requirements.

o Set-up Webserver as per application requirements.

o Monitoring database on hourly basis for any kind of discrepancy/ error.

o Daily backup of databases.

o Daily/ hourly update of online portal and database regarding online information, application forms, candidate fee status, blocking/ unblocking candidates application form etc.

o Weekly/ daily update of application form fee, in master database.

o Provide registration data to technical team for various activities like fee reconciliation of offline/ online fee paid, admission alerts through SMS/ email, sitting plan preparation etc.

o Generation of On-demand reports for various analysis:

Identify duplicate registered candidates before entrance test. Random Ordered Admit Card, Cut-Lists and Attendance Sheets. Identify List of Candidates who had registered and filled application form but not paid their application fee.

Identify Candidates who paid their Application Fee but not filled their application form.

Identify any kind of discrepancy/ error related to Candidate information like contact information, biometric information etc. which is required for admission process.

o Consistent modernisation of Online Admissions Portal with

enriched features during successive years for attaining new requirements, better performance and security.

3. In-house Custom CMS Based Online Admissions Portal

Every year, up-gradation of Online Admission Software model to achieve the sustainable automation, keeping in view of latest challenges & security aspects by lowering manual interventions. ▪ Now, the Online Admission Software is fully automated, responsive and

have various automated modules like:

a. Completely Automated and Managed Single Registration Portal for registration of various Undergraduate/ Postgraduate/ Diploma/ Certificate/ State Level Course/ M. Phil. Ph. D. Courses, courses with/ without entrances tests and Engineering Courses etc.

b. Role Based Administrative Portal for Front/Help desk team to

execution of the following tasks:

• Create a new form.

• Add new field or modify to existing live form.

• Add/modify new category, course, notices, fee or other information using In-house developed online responsive Content Management Solution.

• Assign Roll No’s and generate cultists.

• On the spot registration of candidate.

• Allow/ Block candidate for next process.

• Automatic Confirmation of fee paid through online mode and portal for manual confirmation of fee through Offline Mode.

• Start/ Stop various activities like Enable Late Fee, Registration, Form Filling, Editing, Printing and Admit Card etc.

c. Single Sign on Online Dashboard of students for various activities like

Fill/ Edit Online Application Form, Print Admit card and to check their completed/ pending processes. This dashboard ensure various checks like whether

• Candidate Application Processing Fee is confirmed or not

• Application Form is filled, or not.

• Due date for fill Online Application Form with/ without late fee is over, or not.

• Choices for courses have been filled, or not.

• Backend team blocked candidate.

• Last date for Editing, Printing Online Application Form/ Admit Card is due, or not.

3. Developed and Successfully executed In-house Online Solution for counselling of various courses of Punjabi University and its neighbourhood campuses like M. Tech., MCA, M. Ed. etc.

The Complete Counselling software includes:

▪ Online Web based module to authenticate, authorized and capture

the candidate preferences, regarding the colleges, departments and courses for first, second and successive counselling’s.

▪ Algorithms for allocation of seats to candidates on the basic of their merit position, online captured preferences and policy framed by Punjabi University, Patiala.

4. Developed and successfully implemented Complete In-House Online

Admission and Counselling Software Solution for MBA Two Year Regular Course admission for Punjabi University, its Neighbourhood Campuses affiliated Colleges for academic session 2013-14 and 2014-16.

▪ This helped the Admission/ Counselling committee for smooth

accomplishment of admission and counselling activities in a transparent mode.

▪ The complete package includes the following modules:

o Set-up of webserver and Domain Name Registration.

o Web based Software Application Module for Capturing Admissions data related to contact information, qualifications, demographic information and other information relevant to admissions of the aspiring candidates who are interested in seeking admissions to MBA-Two Year Regular courses in the University, Its neighbourhood Campuses and affiliated colleges.

▪ Printing Module linked with previous online Captured database for printing of On Spot of Admit Cards, Attendance Sheets and Allotment letters with candidate photograph and signatures.

▪ Online website updation of Daily Summary report/ Seat Matrix for various departments and students to get the daily updated report regarding the total filled/ vacant seats in various departments and Categories.

5. Developed In-house Online Admission Portal for admission in various courses of Correspondence Department of Punjabi University Patiala. This Online Portal was developed for Online Admissions to various courses of Correspondence Department of Punjabi University Patiala. It is ready to use solution and can be implement with minor modification and support of Correspondence Department for Online Admission process of Various Correspondence Courses.

6. Designed, Developed and Successfully Implemented Complete In-House Online Admission Portal for admission of students in various

Undergraduate Courses (entry level) running at different colleges of Punjabi University for the academic session 2017-18 and 2018-19.

▪ This application has capability to authenticate candidate registration

data from different boards like Punjab School Education Board, ICSE, and CBSE etc.

▪ This application collects data related to contact information,

qualifications, demographic information and other information relevant to admissions of the aspiring candidates who are interested in seeking admissions to various courses in the university.

▪ Student Dashboard: Applicants can fill, edit, download their

application forms using Student Portal

▪ College Administrative Portal: Various colleges can view, download successfully registered candidates data. They can approve and admit their candidates. This data will be further utilized for different student centric activities like examination, Identity card, Student Alumni.

▪ Implemented three tier architecture, Server side validation, form validation, Secure Passwords etc. for Securing Online Application to providing security against Hacking, Unauthorized Access Control, SQL-Injection, Cross Site Scripting, De-phasing, Data security and other structures.

▪ Integrated SMS gateway facilities, student admission/ result alerts and recover of their passwords.

This software development was highly appreciated by Secretary Higher Education and Vice Chancellor, Punjabi University Patiala, and they honoured me with an appreciation certificate.

9. Software Facilitator

▪ Officially deputed and trained to use anti- plagiarism software (URKUND).

URKUND is an automated system for handling plagiarism. Further, give assistance regarding this to whole faculty and students of the university. Conducting & delivering Operational Training Program twice in a week to the Faculty/ Research Scholars/ Students of various departments for support and implementation of URKUND software. In addition to it, 950+ accounts of faculty member have been created and 1000+ faculty members and students have been trained.

▪ Software Implementation and training of E-Tendering software in

Executive Engineer office at University Campus.

▪ Performed Special Duties for collection of election commission data.

▪ Conducted various training sessions for training of DICE Capsule Software (Election software provided by the Election Commissioner) to the university employees to collect election data. In addition to it coordinated and submitted the collected data to Deputy Commissioner Office within the allocated period.

10. Server Management Xeon multi core x86 Intel Blade based technology processor servers on Linux/ Windows platform from IBM are being used to run various applications at UCC.

▪ Using it as a testing server for set-up/ testing/ configuration settings of various IT hardware and software like firewall and its user management, Active Directory Configurations, DHCP Server, WAMP Server, LAMP server, SQL Server, FTP Server, Application Server, Web Server etc. .

▪ These servers are configured as web servers for hosting/ testing of various

in-house developed online applications, like Online Admission Portal, Online Registration of Participants to various event organised by Computer Centre.

▪ Maintaining backup of various databases like previous years admission databases, firewall user’s activity log-backups, election commission data etc.

▪ These servers are configured for administration of Outsourced database and use for remote access of secured outsourced SQL and other databases.

▪ Hosting of various web-application and databases like student centric activities e.g. printing of Admit Card, collection of already admitted students
