The launch will be held at the Mexican Institute in Belize City on Tuesday March 29 at 6:00pm. The exchange programme will be implemented in partnership with Heartland International, a nonprofit in the USA and Red Mujeres contra la violencia, a women’s organization in Nicaragua. The goal of the exchange is to create joint projects between Belizean, Nicaraguan and American participants to share best practices, promote mutual understanding and address social justice issues common to all three cultures. The participants will be focusing in the areas of women’s rights and empowerment, reduction of domestic violence, and trafficking in women. “Heartland International is pleased to be partnering with WIN Belize on this exciting project,” said Molly O’Donnell, Programme Director of Heartland International “I am impressed with the quality and wide variety of organizations in the WIN Belize network. It is great to see so many dedicated people working hard to end the numerous challenges that women face in our world. WIN Belize and their Winners volunteer group are a fabulous example of mobilizing grassroots efforts to reach every corner of the community with their important information. This is such a beautiful and friendly country, I can’t wait to return.” WIN-Belize thanks the US Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs for funding of the programme. The Women’s Issues Network of Belize (WIN-Belize) proudly announces the launch
