Deuteronomy 28:1-14 “If you will diligently obey the Lord your God, being careful to do all His commandments which I command you this day, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.”

Psalm 107:1-28

The people of Israel frequently disobeyed and were filled with distress and need. They continually cried out to God in their trouble.

Isaiah 43:1-5, 21-24

God speaks of His love and mercy for His chosen people. They, however, have not been faithful in worshipping the Lord.

Isaiah 49:8-15

Even though God’s people didn’t deserve it, He still cared for them. As a gracious Father, He loved them unconditionally.

Isaiah 54:10 “For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, but My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, and My covenant of peace will not be shaken.”

Amos 5:21-23

Without genuine love and obedience, their worship to the Lord was meaningless and displeasing to Him.

1 Samuel 15:1-22 “The Lord does not have as much delight in your offerings and your sacrifices as He does in your obeying the voice of God. Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice!”

Is it possible that we aresometimes like those people?

Is our worship given from aloving and obedient heart?
