Job title: Project Engineer
Reporting to: Project Manager
Location: Depends on the Project
General Description of the Role
Under general direction, responsible for various engineering projects starting from the project origination and carrying through the testing phase. Activities include planning, developing, and/or evaluating a new project or process. Works with other engineering departments and co-ordinates their specialized contributions to the development of the project. May provide technical leadership and assist in training less experienced engineers. Requires independent judgement and initiative. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and five to seven years of related experience.
Roles and Responsibilities
Initiation Responsibility I-1 Requirement Gathering for project scope determination through one to one meetings, brainstorming sessions, general meeting, observation of current processes etc.
Work Standard Delivery of Requirement Request Matrix, Scope Document and To-Do List enlisting all requirements and finalised work packages.
Responsibility I-2 Providing estimates for A3 and CERWork Standard Price initial estimates for project work packages and the total
project cost within +/- 20% as per the given format Responsibility I-3 Leading initial design processWork Standard Preparation of design scope of work with clear identification
of functionalities, interaction points, operating parameters and other specification deemed necessary. The format used in the division should be used.
Responsibility I-4 Providing assistance in business analysisWork Standard Analysis of business requirements through a process of
brainstorming sessions, group discussions etc., if required. A possible outcome would be a project feasibility study report.
Planning Responsibility P-1 Leading Design ProcessWork Standard Leading the design process handled by the design team with
regard to delivery of requested requirements, quality and time. Deliverables from the Design department will be detailed drawings and Bill of Material.
Responsibility P-2 Detailed Budgeting processWork Standard Providing detailed budget, breaking it down to AUCs
perfectly capable of tracking project expenditure against the budget.

[Type text]Responsibility P-3 Detailed Project SchedulingWork Standard Schedule all listed activities considering duration,
dependencies and resource utilisation. The output should be a detailed MS Project Plan with resources allocated.
Responsibility P-4 Leading technological innovation in the projectWork Standard Leading technological innovations in project planning
Providing optimum technical solutions for new products and/or improvements in current processes
Leading dialogue with overseas and local machinery suppliers on customisation as per Loadstar requirement
Responsibility P-5 Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.
Work Standard The product has to be produced liaising with R&D and Production team during the Ramp-Up period.

Academic qualifications
Essential DesirableB.Sc. (Engineering) with at least 5 years’ experience or any other technical diploma ( 3 years fulltime academic and training) with 7 years’ experience both in mechanical engineering
Diploma or certificate course in Project Management

8. Representative from the SHE Coordinates with the representative from the SHE Division on the safety aspects of the proposal
9. Representatives from the relevant factory
Coordinates with the relevant personnel from the project sponsor factory for project requirements.
