Desirée Bombenon - Awarded Enabler of Vision

The International Conference on Gender & Sustainability is both timely and imperative, as

utilizing the full potential of women is key to fast-tracking sustainable development globally.

Desirée Bombenon was presented with the Enabler of Vision award at the ICOGAS the

International Conference on Gender and Sustainability in New York on September 21, 2017

during the UN Assembly sessions.

The award presented by the Center for Economic

and Leadership Development in Special

Consultative status with United Nations ECOSOC,

for Desirée’s work on female education, gender

parity, and women’s empowerment. Also

highlighted was Desirée’s Harvard Advanced

Leadership Initiative project “Hero Girls” that

strives to education females in underserved and

developing regions around the world.

The conference partners include The Center for

Economic and Leadership Development in

conjunction with the Amazons Watch Magazine,

and host partner Ghana International Chamber of

Commerce. These organizations teamed up with

select academic institutions and Universities’

gender departments, aimed to converge,

Government, Industry Practitioners, Global business

leaders, academics and research scholars, and

International Development partners, under one roof to promote the exchange of ideas,

projects, research results, and findings that incorporate gender diversity in delivering economic,

social, and environmental sustainability, among other objectives.

Featuring numerous First Ladies from various countries the objectives of the conference are:

•To explore the various aspects of sustainability from the perspectives of seasoned

women practitioners and other core stakeholders along the sustainability spectrum

•To promote an exchange of tested ideas, projects, research results and findings that

incorporate gender diversity in delivering economic, social and environmental

sustainability.

•To provide a platform of opportunities for participants to meet face to face with

renowned leaders of global economies, seasoned business women and academics,

industry titans, and development partners to establish global partnerships for future

business, research, and project collaborations.
