BACnet™ allows data exchange between the automation stations as well as be-tween the automation and the manage-ment level. This is an open standard which Siemens is continuously advancing as well and which offers you therefore high investment security. Thanks to BACnet, you can also use DESIGO INSIGHT as a management station for existing systems. It also offers a simple and uniform method of connecting SIMATIC S7 automation stations for in dustrial and high-availability applications to the DESIGO building automation system.

Moreover, because it supports the LonWorks® or KNX standard, the range of DESIGO RX room controls offers also fl exibility and an open platform for third-party equipment.

Building management across all ■

disciplinesDESIGO not only allows you to optimize your room climate from a central point, but also offers a user-friendly way to integrate other disciplines with fl exible monitoring and control – for example access control, video surveillance, and fi re protection. You can pinpoint prob-lems more quickly, and all relevant data are centrally displayed. You are also given full documentation and a common database for all systems and processes.

In the future, compatibility gives you considerable investment protection. DESIGO remains fully compatible with regards to interfaces, data or application libraries. Existing data are automati-cally transferred. DESIGO also supports Microsoft Vista, Windows XP, and Internet Explorer 8. The system’s fl exibility saves you both time and expense.

At management level, DESIGO INSIGHT pro-vides an overall user interface for operating, monitoring and analysis of all connected systems and equipment.

At automation level, primary plants are con-trolled and monitored via DESIGO PX and can additionally be operated via a Web Client with PX WEB. Increased security through fl exible alarm management: DESIGO INSIGHT can be used for the central acquisition, handling, and evaluation of alarms from all of the integrated systems. With the powerful alarm routing system, alarms can be for-warded via text messages, fax, e-mail or pager to users wherever they are, regard-less of whether or not the management station is attended.

Flexible data management ■

Savings through targeted optimization: Actual fi gures that are recorded by energy consumption meters are com-pared with target fi gures. Fully integra-ted historical and real-time data han-dling provide for fast and focused plant optimization. Regular reports provide the basis for taking further steps. It is also possible to transfer data directly into MS Offi ce applications and use them there for further analysis.
