Converts text into HTML FrontPage, DreamWeaver, Netscape
Composer etc. Training for Netscape Composer and
DreamWeaver
Graphic
Manipulates pictures to make them “web ready”
PhotoShop, Fireworks, PhotoShop Elements, Correll Draw
District offers limited trainings on PhotoShop
Multimedia
Creates interactive or animated graphics for web
FLASH, Director, Authorware District does FLASH development for
certain projects
Content Management
Users input content into templates to develop web sites.
Manila, OmniPage, Interwoven, Vignette District and De Anza supports Manila by
providing training, server space, and server back-ups
Course Management
Comprehensive software integrating student information, tracking, grading within tool
WebCT, BlackBoard, ETUDES De Anza’s distance program uses WebCT
and CVC trains and hosts this tool
Synchronous Communication
Provides real-time interaction via the web using video, and/or audio usually with PowerPoint slides
Horizon Live, WebX, Placeware Not really available at CCCs
Video/Audio
Editing and compression tools making video/audio files web ready
iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Tegrity, Wimba iMovie is free on Macintosh, we offer
training Tegrity is available through CVC
Application Tools
Basic application tools that allow you to save files as HTML
Word, PowerPoint, Excel, All tools supported and trained by the
district!
